DLS search needs a little attention...

Well this is just silly.

As railroad buffs, perhaps you've heard of these obscure terms.

B&O
C&O
D&RG

Have you? The DLS hasn't.
Notice the Ampersand (&)? The DLS doesn't.

Ampersands are a bit of a pain for scripting and coding, as used here they should be B&O in the page's source and in the database for the DLS - but tho it may be a pain, and require some finesse in the code, don't you think they ought to work on a website that's about FREAKING RAILROADS??!

I just realized that all my M&Pa assets CAN NOT be found by searching for their full title or by searching for M&Pa....

I feel ya. If you type in UP or Union pacific, the DLS says nothing was found. Type in Amtrack, Nothing. I agree with u

Unfortunately, the website based Download Station is now getting extremely old (dating back almost 10 years!), and has had very little major work done to it in that time. It is essentially obsoleted by Content Manager, however we have maintained it as a backup/secondary access to the Download Station.

We don't have any plans to upgrade it, beyond keeping it functional with current versions of Trainz, as it is obsoleted by Content Manager.

A quick test here shows that Content Manager does correctly handle the '&' character, as a search for 'M&Pa' shows your content, as well as a couple of others.

Ok, fair enough. However your post does make me wonder about http://dls.trainzportal.com/, if the DLS is "obsolete" why bother with the new frontend? Which last I heard was "beta" and "not yet ready for the public" <- paraphrased from N3V staff posts (maybe you, I can't recall)
