I remember seeing this (in real life). I wish I had photos of the train. :(

though the engine wants to throw itself off a cliff for being trapped in an endless circle...

No offense NC but i kinda don't like when real engines that used to pull common carrier jobs are stuck at amusment parks. Its humilaiting, which is why i want to go Spetsnaz commando and steal the RGS 41 and D&RGW 340 from Knott's Berry Farm and give them to the Colorado Railway Museum...

here it comes agian...

thats one way to look at it, Disney had a few engines custom built for them in addition to several they aquired in very poor condition, all of which were rebuilt and are currently very well kept. Walt owned several acres of land in which he had a full size railroad operate (many of these engines actually spent several years there). Knotts however I can not validate, they have some very historic engines that they quite frankly don't deserve. I personally think that its just a ploy to compete with disney and is really a waste of good engine power.

cheers

Woah! Hold your tunge! You do know that without Knots ever having those engines they would no longer exist?!

Yes its true. Mr Knotts (I think or Whatever) was a rio grande NG fan. He happened to have money and land when the D&RGW was abandoning its NG along with its engines and cars. He stepped in and bought 340 and 41 and a few other peices of rolling stock, including K-27 464, thus preserving them to this day.

Now yes, In my opinion, I would rather see them at the C&TS in Colorado, or someone else who could use them. Not Colorado Railray Muesum. I know they have wonderfull staff, but I just dont see anything there leaving, and its basicly a loop there too.

My input, and sorry to go off topic. I know this was WAYYYY off. Sorry

At least the CRM doesn't constantly steam them up and down, doing god knows what to the boiler, plus the fact they would get to pull authentic cars. And i don't care what mr. Knott did, I beleive with all my heart Mr. Richardson of Alamosa would have bought them too if he were given the chance. he's one of my railway heroes for what he did, along with F. Nelson Blount for starting Steamtown USA (which is what i still call the place, other than failtown and canadian town, since they run only canadian engine)

Another tangent, but, I'm still going commando and stealing them, then it's off Flint Michigan to hijack the 464.

Any volunteers?

Thats true, Keep i mind I may have a bias towards disney :p
as far as im concerned, this seems relatively on topic, knotts is only a few blocks down.... dont worry bout' it

@ish: Don't use childeren to justify going:p everyone knows that adults as well as kids love disney,:hehe:

cheers

Haha, I would except that would hurt Huckleberry, and if we want to run 464 in Colorado, she would need a superheater, as her old one was removed.

But about the saving part. I can get a list of people who would of loved to save engines and stuff from the D&RGW, but it was all just by chance. Now granted yes, I dont like them being at knotts either, with boiler pressure soooooo low you cant hear the chuffing. But its better than being scrapped (I dont know if it was either the C classes or 464 that was days away from the final torch if it wernt for Knott).

Authentic cars? Basicly all of their rolling stock is original D&RGW, including parlor car Durango (which is great Irony to me becouse the D&S has the Alamosa) Oh, and a goose. But im not shure if their goose is original or not.

Back to dysney, sweet monorails man. I realy like how they are comming along. I remember when I was younger (last time I was 14 im 15 now:hehe: ) I would mostly ride either the monorails or the steam.

To any followers who may be dis-heartend by the recent lack of Disneyland updates: do not loose hope, as of now I am planning on resuming my project during this summer. My hope is to dabble more with content creation, my aim being to create much of the necesary custom content needed for the park. In addition, I have spent hours of work compiling the Queue music loops for many of the attractions within the park, my plan also includes using these files as ambience sources in the game, thus creating a more realistic enviroment. If I at any point become capable at modeling, I will be most likely attemting to create a more acurate model of the Monorail system in Disneyland, Ie: smaller beam size and monorail size. Please understand this is a very large project, and from my standpoint is going to require alot of trial and error for me. I hope to continue this project and build it into a crowning success of my participation in this community.

The monorail skins that i have made thus far will be updated in these comming weeks, I plan to release an updated version of the monorails to include a repainted interior as well as the remaining colors of the WDW fleet. Hornsounds may be updated (i have yet to decide on this).

If there are any comments, concerns, or questions please feel free to post them on this thread as well as PM me. I thank you all for you patience, time, and support.

cheers,

I haven't been looking at every page but theres one thing missing as far as I've seen...............wait for it.......................THE CASTLE! Help!

Nice job:cool: All of a sudden I've opened CM3.2 and am searching for monorails:confused:

If you want the WDW monorails, navigate to the trainz launcher and select the "extras" button in the right hand column, then navigate to the monorail project folder and click on all the files and commit the content. In addition, click on the link in my signature to go to my site. There I have a reskined monorail you can download as well.

cheers

Hey NC
When you go through the ng railroad tunnels, it's got heaps of stuff in it, I forgot what it was, (06 was the last time I went there) but there were heaps
Jamie

Yes, The first of their tunnels is just after the New Orleans Square station. It cuts right through the ride Splash Mountain, and as you go through you get a glimps of the rides Finale as the characters dance and sing on the steam boat "Zip-a-Dee Lady." The second of the two tunnels is shortly after the Tommorowland Station. It encases two major Diarama displays of the grand canyon at present time and during prehistoric times with appearences from several dinosaurs. Two other tunnels are incorperated into the track plan, for staff and maintinence purposes. One just before New Orleans Square Station, is discuised as a building and is used as a staff access path to the park. The second is behind the Outdoor Theater just after leaving the banks of the Rivers of America, and serves as a vehical accessway.

I Dont think the monorails work in 2010, at least the versions found on my site and in 06. but I can see that you have 06, which will run the monorails, Just do as I instructed above, and you will have them installed and funning in no time.

cheers
