CP Rail SD40-2/SD40-2F Request TRS2009

Can anyone please make a CP Rail SD40-2 or SD40-2F for TRS2009? I tryed Trainzproroutes.org and they have some but they don't seem to be compatable with TRS2009. If anyone could make those, that would be great.

No Paint Shed reskins please. I can't stand them!:hehe:
 
http://rrmods.com has some great payware CP SD40-2.
I've bought a few units from them and they are great.
I think they have some freeware GP40.

can you tell us what error they are showing?it will be more easy to tell you exactly which tool to use to fix them

while you're there download all his tools they are amazing. I believe there are tutorials for all of them.
First thing you need to do is open it up in content creator plus you find this by going into content on the disk menu then right clicking the asset and going to edit and clicking Content creator plus. Or just right click the asset and click view errors and warnings I find using CCP is better at times because it sometimes can jumpstart the asset once you update it to the build number you're using and save the asset (be sure to commit after you save otherwise the changes don't get brought into the game)
 
The TPR units can be made to work in 09/10/12... so far I have all of CNRs stuff up and working... it just takes a bit of work....

lets tackle these in order...

1. The missing Kuids......

95761:50180 is "sd40-2 bogey wheels"

95761"50181 is "sd40-2 front bogey"

95761:50182 is "sd40-2 rear bogey"

Let me see where I can locate those at.

EDIT : here - http://www.trainzproroutes.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=3382 there was a second link there, it is these kuids. You must be registered on the forum for the links to show up.

2. Texture problems

Click on the CP sd40-2f asset, and do a Edit - edit in explorer... this opens the asset for editing.

once the explorer window opens, double click on the cp_sd402f_body folder.

Delete the following xxx.texture.text files from the cp_sd402f_body folder:

cp_sd402f_body/brake2-brake1a.texture.txt

cp_sd402f_body/gray5.texture.txt

cp_sd402f_body/mainlow.texture.txt

cp_sd402f_body/mainmed.texture.txt

These entries are not used and are causing your other problems. It will eliminate the following errors:

Error: Unable to load primary texture 'cp_sd402f_body/brake2.bmp' for texture file 'cp_sd402f_body/brake2-brake1a.texture.txt'.
Error: Unable to load primary texture 'cp_sd402f_body/gray5.bmp' for texture file 'cp_sd402f_body/gray5.texture.txt'.
Error: Unable to load primary texture 'cp_sd402f_body/mainlow.bmp' for texture file 'cp_sd402f_body/mainlow.texture.txt'.
Error: Unable to load primary texture 'cp_sd402f_body/mainmed.bmp' for texture file 'cp_sd402f_body/mainmed.texture.txt'.

In addition to eliminating those errors, it also eliminates these last 2 errors:

Error: The primary and alpha texture are not the same size for 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TS2009/local/hash-08\kuid 95761 110\cp_sd402f_body/brake2-brake1a.texture.txt'
Error: Unable to load alpha texture 'cp_sd402f_body/brake1a.bmp' for texture file 'cp_sd402f_body/brake2-brake1a.texture.txt'.

After you have deleted these entries, close out the windows explorer window , make sure the cp sd40-2f is highlighted, and press Ctrl and M at the same time. This will commit the unit.

I think that should do it for you.....

Its been awhile since I fixed these....I don't think you will get any other errors.

EDIT 2: Yep, I just re downloaded the #9011 unit. I eliminated those textures and everything works in TS12. I'm not sure which unit you are getting the gray5.texture.text entry on.....I re downloaded all 4 units and did not get the gray5 warning

EDIT 3: Ah, you may have missed the 4rth CP SD40-2f and thats why you didn't get the bogeys... the 4rth unit is in the same message as the bogeys.

EDIT 4: A SD40-2 and SD40-2F are different creatures for those who don't know..... the F desginator means full carbody....

Also, if you for "Loadman" on the DLS under username.... I think you will be most happy. Rememeber to check all the version boxes on the left hand side.
 
Why are there Missing Textures TGA/BMP in config files

I want to know why the texture.txt files are in the config file ... if the actual textures were never put ther in the first place by the original creator of the asset ?

I would surmise that minor mistakes were made, and ommissions of actual textures were overlooked by the original creator ?

Either that or the actual textures somehow got deleted, or lost, in the original upload to the DLS ? ? ?
 
Coming from my point of view as a content creator..... sometimes a "Standard" setup is used to make various pieces of content.... older versions of Trainz were not as strict on the error checking, so it wasn't a big deal... newer versions started getting more and more in depth on the error checking and that is why some content wont work in newer versions.

I have config file burnout, and bloodshot eyes ... I'm a going to bed now ... I iz' AFK ... dreaming of running my Trainz ... Yes ... my dreams contain Trainz, and are in wide screen panavision, have surround sound, and rolling credits at the end of my dreams ... The movie ain't over until the Kodak/Sony/Dolby logo in the ending credits scroll up !

BTW: you know how config files are all small type ? If you go into Notepad, and select "Font" and change it from "Veranda" to be "Franklin Gothic Bold", and increase the font from 10 Point, to be "12 Point" or "14 Point" ... when your "Open For Edit In Explorer" type will be much easier on the tired ol' eyeballs ! :cool:
