Content updating?

Hi all.

After starting the game (2010), on the main screen we have a section named "Content Update".

When I go to that section, I can find no way of downloading the updates, so I have two questions for you.

1. How do I know what is need to be D/L, what is 100 per cent necessary?

2. How?

With TS2010's Content Updates feature, it's only possible to do it one at a time using that method. You have to click a listed update, then click Download Update, then click Download.

To do more than one in a row, use Content Manager.

Hi Shane, thanks for replying. Just went to start the updates, but there's nothing listed. But it says there are 1975 updates.

This is the first time I've looked at the section for two years. (Last time was just after I installed the game, but I didn't do the update as I didn't have landline internet and was limited to 1GB usage/month).

If there's a red dot/bug at the bottom-right of the screen, you will need to do an extended database repair to get the feature working.

You will probably only need the updates for content you actually use.

And how do I find out what content I use out of the 1900 plus downloads?

That would be dependent on which routes you use - check the dependencies in Content Manager.

I never bother with the content update window as it is not always correct. Use CMP and select the installed tab. In the search box on the left select out of date = true. All your installed out of date assets should appear. Use select all from the edit in tool bar and then right click the highlighted area. Choose find asset versions and when the window opens select view in main list. All those with DS are available from the DLS. Some updates will not happen because they are for a higher build than your version of trainz but still show as needed by 2010.
