Content Dispatcher problem

I'm sure it's something really obvious, but here goes:

I've just had to reinstall Trainz04 on a new machine with vista, and for the most part it went well.

I've registered everything I could find (trainz id, planet auran, product code).

Now the problem is that I want to use Content Dispatcher to turn my routes into CDP's but upon opening Content Dispatcher, when I click "add asset", nothing appears.

I've gone through the guide and renamed all of the maps using "save as", but still nothing is recognized.

I'm wondering if I had a faulty install of trainz itself, as I have a couple of other minor bugs (ie no horn in the cab).

If I decided to try to reinstall everything, would that wipe out everything I've created so far? I've tried to find the maps themselves in the folders but I can't even seem to find them. Must be a vista-thing!

BTW - build is 2365 with latest service pack installed.

Any ideas folks?

Hi Neil,

Vista requires that you give administrator permissions are required for older programs such as Trainz to operate properly.

Open up the install location where the program is located. ie. C:\Program Files\Auran\Trs2004\

Right click on each of the .exe files and choose compatibility.
Check Run as Administrator...

Do the same for the complete contents of every file in the Bin folder.

This should allow the program to access your files and your hard drive properly. The newer versions of Trainz such as TC3 run better under Vista.

Hope this helps.

John I appreciate your help, but I still seem to have the same problem.

I'm seriously thinking about doing a full re-install.

Any idea if there's a way to find the maps in the folders, and save them to a disc, or at least a separate temporary folder? This was all so easy under XP, but I admit Vista has me a bit baffled!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
