Competitive Screenies (Not Dial-up Friendly)

...which also has some very tight trackwork. Due to the limited amount of space on the quay, trains must be brought in by one locomotive and taken away by another. The original loco can then be turned on the wye. On shorter trains, it is possible to run the loco around at the previous station and shunt the train down the slope and into the harbour area. Either way it makes for some interesting operational possibilities...[/I]

What track did you use on the Quayside JB?

I am now really thinking if I should enter at all. Those shots are great: better than my layout. I can't do anything like that:( . Maybe I should withdrw, I'm unsure.

I Gotta truckload of "Dead Last" awards in my room! Want to share?

LCH, the track I've used for the dock is part of the AJS series, it's meant to be tram track but this one in particular doesn't have the built in trolley wire, which is handy ;)

The kuids are:

Track (Rails Only) 2m kuid2:122285:1102:2
Track (Rails Only) 8m kuid2:122285:1105:2

Cheers,

JB

Thanks jivebunny and BidMod. I'll continue with my route and post some screens later. It might be alot cut down than it was due to Work Experience the last 2 weeks so I'll be working my socks off. However I used there computers to download a load of stuff (naughty :p )

hey dont give up
every one had to start somewere
even if you dont win you will have had fun doing it,

I remember when I was young, I wanted to go to sea and my father was against it as he said there was no future in it

My Grandfather said

Its not important if you come first or last
Its only important that you do the best you can and that you learn from your mistakes

keep going, look at other peoples routes to see how they solved problems
Do something small, Have a look at Rhye on Sea or Little How, or grunty Fen, They may give you some insight as to what to do :)

Here's some from my latest route. This one is now finished, but I don't have any finished screens to hand, only these development ones.

The idea of the route is a working rail transport museum, running a short section of railway and a tramway. The site includes aspects of many heritage locations, including the tramway on the former railway trackbed (Seaton), a short heritage railway (Beamish, except mine has a second station), a mock early 1900s street (Beamish or Chrich) and single line working (Crich). Also included is a small locomotive shed and turntable, but for the AI to correctly work tender engines must face away from the lake (Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway!). The roads along much of the railway are lined with hedges and tall grasses similar to the roads near to where I live. I've also tried to suggest fields and crop systems, but these aren't the greatest. Look out for the derelict wagons.

SR O1 leaves the station

SR 949 Hecate crosses the level crossing (which is now surrounded by more buildings, hedges, textures, roads and cars)

Trams cross at the terminus built on the former railway trackbed - rusting rails can be seen by the eagle eye stretching away into the woods.

Nice concept BidMod, I like it!

Can I offer a little tip? Try painting 'Ger_Forest' under all your trees. It will give the illusion of shade and make them fit into the landscape better.

Nice pics. Well done.

nice sohtz !!

But whtat happened here:

Looks like there used to be two points there and they've been ripped up...

Spot on - the signal just beyond the bridge can be seen to have a second arm, and just out of shot is a second crossover facing the other way. I originally had the track this way around, but the AI just got confused, so I ripped it up and relayed it. However because I'm lazy (and this sort of thing has actually happened) I left the original signalling and alignments in. Using the brown ballast, I hoped to create an air of disuse, but I can't really say how well it worked.

In fact, further beyond the bridge, you can see where I've added a "disused" section, complete with rusting rails and a shedload of FMA grass. :)

Thanks for the comment about the trees - I actually have trees elsewhere where I've added a darker texture, but I forgot about the under here.

BidMod.

Dihydrogen Monoxide "H2O" Water?!? Dangerous Maybe

Some from my first session, "Dihydrogen Monoxide delivery," in which you deliver the "dangerous" chemical dihydrogen monoxide to the particle accelerator to be used as coolant.
