Coaling Towers

Hey, I am looking for a decent 1900 style C&O or Pere Marquette coaling tower. I have searched the DLS and have found nothing.

All of the decent coaling towers on the DLS are designed for 3 tracks. I want one that actually will load coal into the tender and only requires one track.

Any ideas? I am not against payware either, so don't be afraid to point me in that direction.

A one track coal tower wouldn't work. How do you get coal into the bin? I've made 2 with two tracks. One track to empty hoppers into the coal bin and the other to fill tenders. Search for Coal Tower 1 and 2.

I do understand that, and to be honest, my knowledge on the subject is limited. I was a big diesel-electric guy up until about a month ago when I decided to start a 1890's style route. =)

I did a little digging after your post, and you are correct. I will be looking for those assets. Are they working in 2010?

Mine are: kuid2:210518:7516:2 and kuid2:210518:8721:1 but are wood. Nothing like the one in your link or the one in SR6900's link. Both made for 2004. I have no idea if they work in 2010 or not. Theoretically they should but Auran keeps changing the rules so they might not.

Hey, I found your towers. I was being dumb, apparently I had already downloaded them earlier that day in my search and forgot about them. =)

So, when I searched LocationLS I could not find them because they were already on my computer.

I like them. Got any proto pictures of your source for the design?

I think I made them from a photo in a magazine or catalog but no idea which. Possibly the Walthers catalog. Its been a while.
