Can't start trainz 12

Hi,

I need some help I can't start trainz 12,I have a black box something like CMD ,steamapps\common\ts2012\bin\taddeamon and sometime trainz util.Boxes are opening up on own accord
is this a virus or is it broke?,the number's just keep going up and up.Command callback TAD CMD HOST complete but just goes in circles???
 
Thank's Nicky for pointing me to that thread,I'm 100% sure there has been no crashes or exited from the trainz program when I shouldn't have,the only thing that has changed or actions I have taken
were to download 7 updates yesterday,now have lost 90 minutes validating.It's seems to have sorted it self out now.As much as I'm really enjoying T12 I can see this as a pain in the rear of what little
spare time I have.

Again,this morning tried to run trainz12,validating,validating,it goes on and on.Iv'e read through the 2-3 threads on the subject,so I'm left in a pickle,the money I spent on a FCT is rendered useless,I won't/
don't want to download anything from the DLS because I know whats coming after this - more validating - more time I can't run trainz.I'm sure some key/token could be managed along with all other already
validated assets - so no need to keep validating - only new assets acquired.I really should have read more on these forums before I decided to return to trainz after years away,I can't see me wanting to use
your product anytime soon,outcome-UNINSTALLED.Sry.
 
You should post your experience in the thread I linked. The developers are under the belief that this issue doesn't exist because for some reason they cannot "repro" it in the office. Just out of curiosity, is your TS12 SP0 (49922) or SP1 HFx?

I can't thank you enough for your time and help.Some information-I bought trainz 12 from steam - always keep this up to date checked-

Currant build in steam properties 135896
Launch trainz 12 build 61297
Configure Trainz 12 screen (59637)
Configure trainz screen (developer) build 61297)

Even though the cpu is running at 4Ghz the validating process is tiresome and very frustrating,all i want to do is have a drive for an hour.

This is what I do to "workaround" the "problem".

Since we can expect long bouts of validation after installing lots of assets, we can purposely "trigger" this event instead of having it occur when we actually want to use the software. After downloading from the DLS/installing from CDP your bunch of assets, start Trainz in windowed mode and let it finish its nonsense. 3 times it will usually hang; at routes screen, when opening Trains tab and when opening Objects tab. Duration is proportional to the amount of content installed. Once it hangs just minimize the program and continue about your day.

I only use SP1 for testing a route and thus have very few assets to cause long validations, but if I understand this correctly SP1 has "backgrounded" the validation process meaning Trainz does not completely lock up but you will feel a significant slowdown in the rest of your programs. Pre-SP1 Trainz will hang while validation takes place but i am free to do other things/play other games.

Thank's for that additional information Nicky,I have looked at CMP - I see lots of assets installed that have come from the DLS that have errors or faulty assets,when I try to re download -nothing,I cant revert because
that option is greyed out and sometimes I see the download helper is in red,failed to retrieve download path,if the assets are faulty on the DLS then a purge of all faulty assets would benefit us all,but not an ideal
situation.

I'm i the process of clearing or deleting all faulty assets after I try to re-download first to see if that will fix,TADdeamon is reporting faulty assets due to unknown dependencies with the KUID-.
Will report after Ive deleted all faulty assets,if they can't be reverted.
