Can you have different builds of the same Trainz version on the same computer?

It did at first, but that was due to one of the Trainz folders in use, even though I couldn't find it was opened. And also because I almost put in the wrong folder.

But I restarted the computer again, & double checked the folder. I checked to see what Trainz folder, which is meant to be in TS12 folder that I put the other TS12 in.

I'm still having problems

I'm still having problems.
I re-installed TS12-Anniversary, and then patched to 49922. The TS12 launcher page stated it was 49922.

But when I used the disks to install the second TS12, from build 49922 to 61388, both TS12 launcher show 46957, even though the first the TS12 is now 49922 (It's now 49922, but showing 46957)

Need some help on what's going on please.

You need to name the folders TS12 and TS12-1 for eg so you know which is which. Sounds like you've overwritten the build 49922 and your back to square 1 again.

If possible don't install in the C:\ programs folder (where it want's to go). Make a new TS12 folder and put it there.
Better still instal on another drive away from the O/S.

At Fran, I made a folder called C:\SIMULATOR GAMES\TRAINZ BUILD nnnnn (n being number of build),

I was going to use the Trainz BUILD nnnnn folder I made, but after the first attempt, decided to just place it directly in the SIMULATOR GAMES folder that I made.

Anything so you know which is which. The edit reason I like, do it often.
I rename the desktop shortcuts as well. I have TS2012 61388 I and TS2012 49922 E.

What I have noticed is that when I install for the second TS12, it goes to the default folder, but then I browse to choose C:\SIMULATOR GAMES to install it into. I don't know why, but it asks for the N3V Games folder a second time. I try to choose the C:\SIMULATOR GAMES, but that folder doesn't appear the second time.

EDIT-1:
The first TS12 launcher (is a better name for that?) now shows Build 49922 after two patchings.

2nd TS12 in an attempt to make it Build 61388

SET UP BOX
Step 1: Enter details, and the key

Step 2: Where should Trainz TS12 be installed?: Goes to Install into C:\Program Files (x86)\N3V Games\TS12.
No, not in there, so I choose C:\SIMULATOR GAMES\TS12 (You can see it automatically installs a TS12 folder)

Step 3: Where should the Setup place the program's shortcuts It defaults to N3V Games\TS12, but when I try to choose another folder, the C:\SIMULATOR GAMES\TS12 doesn't show.

I think this shortcut might be the problem, as I can't find a folder that is outside the C:\Programs folder to install it into.

EDIT-2 (Update):
With Step 3, I was able to type the folder name this time. Let;'s see if this works.

I don't know why, but the latest update I have is 57825, not 61388. Must be some reason I haven't chosen 61388.

It wouldn't work adding the later builds to the computer directly, so I had to go via another drive, and just copy it over. I had to reset the resolution size though.

Also renamed the later build launch icon.

Why don't you download the patches you need and patch manually. (ie not the auto patcher).
Doing it that way you can turn off A/V and internet while patching.

Fran, that's what I did, I save the required patches, and then chose them.

But I have two builds of the one version working.
