When I try to download any dependencies they just stay red, no downloads.
I did "Network Diagnostics" and got 4 errors
Error: Download failed - error 2.
Error: Test 'ftp dls' failed.
Error: Download failed - error 2.
Error: Test 'ftp firstclass' failed.
I am registered and have a first class ticket.......Help.......

Do you get a message on the bottom of CMP telling you 'unable to connect' or something similar? I've had a couple of issues recently too. Try that old trick of taking your username and password out, saving then emptying your download list. Re-enter your login details and try again. Usually, if you see the download helper window, things should work properly. Closing CMP and restarting can sometimes help too.

There is also the possibility that there is an issue at the N3V end.

Thankyou for the response.
I tried all your suggestions, but no help. This is the third day I have tried to make this work.........

What version of trainz are you using to try and download?
Is that version at the latest build (example: For TS12 this currently is 49922)?
Are you using the DLS or Content Manager?
Can you download other trainz content via Content Manager?
Can you post 1 or more examples of items you are trying to download? Preferable the kuid of the main item and the kuid of the dependency you are trying.

I have RE installed a Trainz12, done all the updates etc. Where ever I go to try to download dependencies, they just stay red.
when I go to routes, second route, multiplayer, it says I need to download dependencies. I say yes, it starts to download, they go red, it says cannot contact host check my internet. My internet is working fine.................

OK - next thing to check is that your firewall is not blocking Trainz. Also use the Network Diagnostic feature in Content Manager again to see if it's changed.

Can you again try to answer all the questions I asked and this time be specific with as much detail as possible. The questions are really easy, but if you cant bother to answer them we can not help you.

I have been registered on trainz since 2006 and so I do have enough knowledge to set up trainz 2012, so have done all the things in the options etc.
I have done all the right things in the right way. disabled all firewalls but still will not download dependencies

Really?

I do have enough knowledge to set up trainz 2012, so have done all the things in the options etc.
I have done all the right things in the right way.
Maybe you do, maybe you dont.
So far I only got the game a few months and mine is working perfectly without any problems.
You on the other hand seem to have a problem, which makes me think that something might be wrong on your side.

So, once again:
Are you using the DLS or Content Manager?
Can you download other trainz content via Content Manager?
Can you post 1 or more examples of items you are trying to download? Preferable the kuid of the main item and the kuid of the dependency you are trying.
And again:
The questions are really easy, but if you cant bother to answer them we can not help you.

I can not download anything using the Content manager.
I can download a route from the DLS if I use "details" and download to my desktop and not use the contact manager.
But once I click on the red file on my download file it starts the Content manager. The route is installed but it will try to download all the dependencies and they are all red, not downloaded.
Anything I drag into the download page on the left of the content manager from the main list (item is on the DLS) the download helper will try to download and it will go red.
If I start trainz, routes, one with multiplayer, sessions, (you need these dependencies) I say yes, it trys to download, they are red. It says "unable to contact host, check internet connection.I contacted my internet provider, everything is OK.. Internet speed test = download 16mbps, upload 2.41Mbps
It has been suggested on another thread, that the TADDaemon.exe file is not waiting long enough for the connection to be made to Auran for the download to start. I am using a new very fast 8 core gaming computer, maybe it is too much for trainz

The processor cores have noting to do with this. This sounds to me to be a network issue. Something is blocking CM from running properly. The fact that you can download manually makes me thing this. Your network is "working", but not for CM to use it by its self.

I would go through the stupid stuff first such as username and password. 99.99999% of the time putting your Planet Auran password back in will fix this problem. Once you go past the stupid easy stuff first, we can get more complicated if that doesn't fix the problem. So the next thing to check is your firewall. Is this built-in to your antivirus package? You might have to fiddle-fart with that to allow CM to have access by its self to the network. A hardware-based firewall would also have settings for this as well. This would be done through your administrator login to your route, unless the router is controlled by your ISP.

I find it very hard to believe that all of the sudden, several people have up and changed their settings and computers so that they cannot download content or start multiplayer sessions.

Maybe you should start to look at the idea that maybe the all great Planet Auran is down... 3 people besides myself tried to start a multiplayer map last night but not one of us were able to connect to Planet Auran from 4 different parts of the US and Canada...

Well I am the fourth person to have this problem. Network diagnostics comes up with no errors. Downloads of TS2010 assets is fine. It is just TS12 assets.

So maybe the multiplayer server is suffering from some kind of ill health. Has anyone launched a service request with the helpdesk? This might bring the issue to someone's attention and they can look into the problem. Muttering about this kind of problem, back and forth like crazy, usually doesn't fix problems quickly.
