C&O GP9 Locos

Did the C&O buy the EMD GP9's configured with the short end or the long end as forward?

From what I can find of pictures they seem to have the short end forward but I think the C&O GP9's I got from JR have the long end forward.

I'm designing some sessions for the C&O Hinton Division and want to get the configuration of the loco sets correct.
