bye trainz, hello railworks

im moving on to railworks now, so i stopped my production in making the BNSF ES44C4, Cajon Pass, and more Leslie and Nathan horns, bye:wave:

You know mate, I really considered getting Rail Works 2 but I sooner found out that Trainz 12 is so much better and easy to use. Plus if you want extra content for Rail Works then consider making a new "bank account". With Trainz 12, you can get quality freeware content. Plus most payware content for Trainz is really cheap to get and just as detailed :). Like JR :)

Cheers

PS. Im sticking to TS12 that's for sure, in my opinion it's the best rail simulator out :D

Your moving over to the dark side now?:D . I think you should stick with trainz because I think the building in railworks is a bit more difficult that it is in trainz and trainz has much more content to mess around with.

May the Force be with you

Hey, I came here because I thought TRAINZ was the Dark Side, how did Don'tWorks get to be the Dark Side?

There is no reason why you can't do both is there? Then you can decide to stay with both or pick one over the other.

Cheers

Well he's name is mutanay :D only joking.

To be fair Railworks has the best British cabs compared to Trainz. I have both I use RW for the British stuff and Trainz for everything world wide, I just couldn't get the hang of the editor in RW as it is much easier in Trainz.

As I pointed out in the RW vs Trainz thread running at UKTS, there's no earthly reason why people can't enjoy the best of what both sims (and a few of the others) have to offer. Ultimately they are games, provided for our amusement (and okay, the odd bit of frustration too... ). This nailing your flag to the mast of one particular programme and defending it to the death has become passe.

None of them are perfect but all have something to offer. I'm currently route building in RW but driving in MSTS, OpenBVE and Trainz (which reminds me I must try and get Avery to Drexel into TS12). My next route project could just as easily be for TS2010 as for RW as I enjoy building in both - each has its plus and minus points.

Hi Vern
You can copy your ja files from TS2010 to TS12, enter your serial number and then you have all the TS2010 content. Some of it won't work, Razorback for example, but the Avery to Drexel line seems OK.

I agree entirely that people should take the best from all worlds and enjoy them. Still enjoying your routes from Trainz and MSTS, looking forward to your Railworks ones. Keep up the good work.
Geoff

Each of the sims have pro's and con's neither one is better than the other because they both provide completely different experiences.
Anyone who disagrees with that obviously doesn't see the bigger picture.

Anyway have fun with RW2, its a great game, but so is Trainz.

Hey mut you are always welcome here. I think that railworks is very nice and good but is boring at certain time because you dont have the freedom that brings trainz. Trainz doesnt have things like railworks but railworks have born 5 years ago and trainz is since 2001 and needs a lot of updating and new quality content but its for me at the same level of railworks

Good luck
Greetings

i think you guys are right, i was a little upset at trainz yesterday, but i will try both as you said, no harm in both. but i still need a break from trainz

I have TS (have played all of the versions shown in my station map), Railworks 2, World of Subways -PATH, and have played BVE.

Since I enjoy building routes more than anything else, TS is obviously my choice. If I want to just enjoy driving a train, then I may choose RW or WOS.
But if you compare all (except BVE, which is free) for entertainment dollar value, TS beats them all, hands down. At least, that is my opinion.
