QR City Train Ipswich 2005 to 2009 V1

Hello Everyone,

Just some progress shots of the Ipswich modual and includes a QGR AC16; which no one is getting their little hands on mowhahahah :hehe: :hehe:

*Notice*

Due to the inavaliablity of alby6 3ft 6in track or any other alternatives, I have switched to SG, and would rather do this for compatibility reasons with my content and other creators; we do strongly appolgies and will release a version in 3ft 6in in the future when decent track & content is avaliable.

I think i can help you find the items you seek. In less than 30 seconds i found about 26 items of track that would fit the build some of them are a lot closer closer than you thought suggest you look in the track list of the game and see if you can find FGV titled track, surprise surprise they are 3F6I tracks, also and on the DLS there is Nippon Senro it is 3F6I track as well and a variety of concrete and timber sleeper. And then there is fender849s track available from a third party website. So i guess there is no problem now. Now in regards to creators if you ask the kindly enough and supply what information you can it makes it easier. I have not had a problem so far and i am modelling the same locations you are.

Now in regards to Ipswich 2008 i suggest you study the maps and track plans there is a issue or two you need to sort out.

Guys
I have been working on my QR maps for about 4 years now not the 30 seconds that many of you have been. When i started there was a lot less QR NG items on offer, so in theory i should be in the same boat as you guys, but i am not. See with a little patience and dedication i have chipped away at the lack of QR NG issue and things have started to appear. It is possible to get things built you just have to ask nicely be patient and things will come.

oh 30 seconds, im really looking forward to seeing your prototypical mayne yard, believe it or not i have been working on this for a year, if you want to bad mouth me for my decisions, please dont comment in this thread

I never mentioned any names so the truth must hurt. In regards to my work the era is a total different one to the one you are doing for starters. What i was saying is thanks to hard work there is NG stuff there just today i found a large selection of NG track the tracks there you just have to get it and use it. The excuse put forward was lack of readily available track its there, getting items of rollingstock is possible you just have to have patience and ask nicely creators and both SG and NG versions can be made not that hard is it. Oh and had you been looking at the Aussie Screenshot thread Mayne yard has many times appeared in screenshots.

i havent complained about track, its the amount of modern queensland rail rolling stock, which to my belief which is zero and im pretty sure i have done double the amount of track work that is in your route because i have got track all the way to gympie and more, all track work except for the shorncliffe line is complete and i am looking at restarting track work on the gold coast and beenleigh map which includes the acacia ridge and moolabin yard so dont you even go into work loads cause im pretty sure mine will be just as high as yours

Thats why whenever you see someone making an item of rollingstock that you ask nicely can they make a NG version of it. There are QR NG items there sometimes all that is needed is bogies or wheel sets. The C-17s i am releasing have NG wheels after working with a few people it become possible and with the approval of the creator. If you give up then there will be none there is a lot more than when i started modelling on trainz so we have come a long way but there is still a long way to go. Also if you want items built finding pictures diagrams plans etc helps, so dont give up just yet.

i never cared for 3ft6i modeling in trainz so why start now? and to add to that, it is being modeled on modern day so tell me what modern city train stock has narrow gauge bogeys on the DLS?

I like modelling in 3F6I but when or if i get items built for QR i like to see that the option of both NG/SG so that way both sides are catered for. Thats why the recent release of the Evans cars has been in SG a correct NG version and another C-17 NG will appear before xmas. QR modellers need to work together where possible not work against each other its hard enough to get items built if everyones pulling in the opposite dirrections.

It takes a lot to convince me on things maybe in time you can convince me by showing some quality screenshots i also hope that you will consider a NG version of your work for those that like the correct gauge rails.

Double the track, how much scenery? Scott's scenery is of high quality and detail, how about yours?

1 year, bigger project on DEM compared to 4 years on DEM, generally you do track first, if you guys dont like the decision dont worry about the project

I notice various requests here and on other threads such as the Australian screenshot thread, for narrow gauge wheeled locos and rolling stock.

I am mystified about this as I discovered by accident the default standard gauge American Union Pacific SD40-2 will work on Scott's Roma Street Ferny Grove route. I had it running from the Newstead yard area through to Roma Street. The BB18 and Sunlander cars also will operate on this 3ft6in layout, even though the Union Pacific loco as well as the QGR BB18 and Sunlander cars have run on the Lismore to Murwillumbah standard gauge layout.

So, does the Trainz 12 software automatically adjust the gauge of the loco and rolling stock to suit what ever track gauge is used?

I am not seeking a fight, rather I was curious when I placed the Union Pacific on the 3ft 6in layout.

Cheers

nah the locos wheel set stays at 4ft 8.5i and floats above the 3"6' track, trainz doesnt detect its 3"6' track it just knows there is track there that a locomotive and wagons can be placed on

OK but it will still run forward through points and than back through the same points after I changed them thus the loco ended up on another track therefore it was still controlled by the track features such as points.

I downloaded the 1200/1250 and the 1300 off the QLD yahoogroup http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QDRTrainz/ but I can't get them to work as they show up as red in the TZ12 selection box in surveyor mode. In the mean time I run the default TZ12 2100 so I can still move freight and passengers as, apart from a few sidings, mostly all the track was in existence when the 2100 class were introduced. Maybe not in that colour scheme but ....
