Australian screenshots

I've been looking at the V-set screenies, and I'm wondering where to find them? I'd like to give them a test. Does anyone know where I can locate the files?

They are currently a WIP, being done by Davido.

They will most likely be released on his website - http://home.exetel.com.au/cws/worrybrook/index.html

Where two (2) new models have just been uploaded. they are Freightcorp and Freightrail 44 Class locomotives.

Thank you very much Davido, your hard work in bringing quality NSW content to Trainz is appreciated.

3830, beaut shots, as always. Your hard work really shows.

Matt.

I have been wanting for years to repaint the 442 into SAR, AN and GWA colours. However, I have never been able to work out where the texture files are for it?

How do you go about it?

Nick

Had the same problem Nick, but finally worked it out. If you find your Candy 442, inside the body folder is a bunch of .texture files. The two you need are 442_body and 442_main. Then using the PEVsoft Images2TGA app (a quick search on here and you should find it), it converts them to .tga's, which you can open in photoshop (or similar). Then go from there :)

That Coote 442 is looking really schmick, is that yours Tom? If it is, the only thing I can suggest would be to add some yellow to the front skirt

Thanks Trent, yep spent last night doing it. Unfortunately when I tried to put the stripes on, I found that the front texture for the cow catcher is also used for that little triangle plate connecting to the catcher on the side of the loco. Looks worse having that plate yellow, rather then just leaving the front green, as I've done. Means an AN 700 would be hard to achieve as they've got yellow stripes on the front as well. Silverton looks promising ;)

Nice re-skins lesley, but what route is that?

Thanks mate, it would be Natvander's Cowrie (spelling?) branch, which was updated by another member (isn't available).

Tom :)

Oh, snap! I suppose one would have to build a new loco from the ground up to actually seperate the two pieces. Still, it's a minor change, and I suspect you're right about keeping it green! Just smear it with mud, and you're done!

Both the Mk1 and Mk2? They've come up with a QUBE livery for them too, and don't be surprised to see an SSR livery in the distant future!

Bloody hell! SSR are going to end up with all of CFCLA's old NSWGR/SRA locos soon. They have just purchased a loco from CFCLA which I can't reveal details about, 4911 from Manildra, and soon maybe a 442 or two.

How do you go about resaving the texture as a .texture file?

 Hi Nick

RE : How do you go about resaving the texture as a .texture file?

Once you have converted it to a .TGA and .texture.TXT you can delete the .texutre file.
( I hope you have CLONED the original and you are reskinning the Clone ) :D

Hey all,

Laugh Out Loud with a Hard Refresh.

Anyways, I have a problem with one of my projects I've been trying to get finished up, kinda hoping someone here might be able to tell me what the problem is.

When you go incab view and use a.outsideview0 and so on vehicles loose half there mesh when your looking through the windows on the M class, if you go to a.outsideview3 which is on shunters steps everything is normal, just when your in the cab it does that, any thoughts on what causes it and how I can solve it?

The textures have all been baked on it too, uses a total of 3 maps, main '24bit tga', main-2 'alpha rgb 32 bit tga' and numbers '24 bit tga'.

I'll ask Jason about that he owns SSR

It's comments like this from gunzels that really bug me. It reeks of the school yard mentality of "I know something you don't know, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah!". If you know something you can't talk about, then don't say anything. I think you'll find a lot of people out there who know a lot more than you who just don't say anything. If you can talk about something, by all means, share information, but if you can't, then don't.

I'm not picking on you specifically, but it is comments like that that really get under my skin, and help to portray enthusiasts as a bunch of childish foamers.

I suspect you are talking about the KL Class that SSR have confirmed as purchasing from CFCL Australia, and they are to be overhauled, repainted and renumbered to their original class numbers, with KL80 being the first.

Yes this is what I am talking about but my source told me to keep quiet about it. I didn't realise they purchased the entire class though.
