Australian screenshots

Patchy, simply stunning work, as always. Looks like a well crafted piece of art, from where i am. Of course, there is only really one way to tell if the screenshots lie...

I don't suppose you need a beta tester?;):o

:Y:= 8/10 (for now:p)

Matt.

geez you're keen matt
i'm only 20-30kms into about a 120km route plus the proston branch
not as easy as my mt isa-cloncurry route where i could build about 10kms a night
this one's little bit more challenging
i'll keep you in mind

cheers,
patchy

Thanks mattm, although I just lost a bit of work, thanks to Trainz being a pain in the backside. I'm having a strange problem where after playing for a while, the screen goes black and the game freezes for a second, then back to normal. This becomes more and more frequent until the game crashes...

I've recently switched from OpenGL to DirectX, and started having this problem. OpenGL runs Trainz too slowly after building a couple of baseboards, while DirectX runs the game at lightspeed...

Looks like suffering through OpenGL until Helpdesk offers a solution. Searching the forums just suggested disabling shadows, which I've done, with no change.

Hmmm hope it's not that Anisotropic Filtering I mentioned to you Trent.
You're graphics card isn't overheating is it?

Cheers
Davido

Patchy, don't take my offer too seriously. I was only joking when i asked about testing the route; i'm not really that eager to do much of anything at the moment.

Just keep the excellent screenies coming at nice regular intervals, and I'll be happy.

Matt.

Firstly, apologies to requote my own image... that has since been quoted  (???)

looks good seen it before in one of cws 45 class will he fit out the rest of his 48s&45s instead of the boring custom cab ? .
jpgjy.png

That cab is the default for the SAR 830 built in to TS2010.

In saying that, I guess though there is nothing stopping TS2010 users from switching out cabs with the NSW 45s/48s.

patchy, looking bloody good mate, the third shot is a real ripper! Some mighty fine landscaping and texturing going on!

I wouldn't think so, my mate custom built this PC for the purpose of playing games like Trainz, so it should be fairly able to perform. Having run the diagnostic tool suggested by the helpdesk, it seems that the only issue Trainz has is that I have a dual monitor setup. I'll try disabling one, and see how we go.

I didn't notice any problems when I turned the setting up, but the problems did happen at the same time as I switched to DirectX from OpenGL, so I'm pinning it on that with my limited ignorance :D

I live in a dusty area, and apart from the furnishings, I have found that the computer seems to attract its fair share too. These new cases have fans everywhere, and I noticed the case sides were building up a lot of crud around the vents. I found the Cpu, graphics fan and the power pack were all blocked as well.
I blew them clean with an air compressor, checked all the cables and put it together again. I also moved the machine from the floor to the desk top. The machine is now behaving itself, and the dust problem is much less on the table.
Just a thought?
Cheers

Hehe, nah I am around. Currently very busy with my main job. So alas Trainz is on the back burner til I come off 7 days and back to 5 days.

My route is still progressing slowly, but with very little time It is now suffering and I am having real bad Trainz withdrawals as well.

I'll try and get some pics up of a little bits I have done over the weekend when I get home from work.

Tip to anyone starting out in work, Don't become a Rigger for a job, Every bloody construction company wants you NOW!

Will do my best to get some more pics up. Jamie happy to send you a CDP of where it currently is upto. I'll upload a version to mediafire or something on the weekend and post a link. Anyone is welcome to check it out. Requires Trainz 2010 SP2.

Some down right bloody amazing screenshots lately once again. I find it always a pleasure to browse the Aussie screenshot forums and can spend alot of time just in this forum alone.

Cheers

Trent,

Nice to see you back, and i look forward to some more quality shots from you finding there way into this particular thread. The Aussie community has some real talent; which more than makes up for what certain other contributors lack in that area.:o Just kidding; we all have our own unique 'talents', for better or worse.:hehe:

I must also agree with you statement above. I find nothing better on some days where i'm feeling a bit down to catch up with the current posts here, and then to browse back randomly, searching for little nuggets of inspiration for my own works.
I can then spend a few happy, if not productive, hours 'lost' in surveyor, trying my best to make that inspiration work for me.

In fact, the last few modules i've started have been inspired by Patchy's current brilliant WIP, so thanks for that, mate.

Cheers,

Matt.

Hi All
Some more 'random' pics from a 'little' projects that I've been tinkering with :)

T394 is seen sitting in the Norris Green platform awaiting departure with the 8am pass.

Having been given the 'clear' by the guard, the T growls it's way past the NG signalbox.

Due to withdrawals of steam locomotives in the 1960s/70s, the Norris Green Dairy purchased J527 for use as their shunter (they do use coal elsewhere after all!). Here we see J527 sitting in the exchange sidings with a string of loaded coal hoppers prior to taking them into the dairy.

On the outskirts of Norris Green, the T makes light work of the grade, prior to coasting down into Waaia. We can see from here all the way down to the yard, and across the floodplain that makes up Norris Green.

Further along the line, we get to Waaia, the first crossing loop outside of Norris Green. Here we see B61, T325, and a freshly repainted T368 sitting in the loop whilst the Up[ pass coasts past.

At the other end of the loop, we can see the pass passing the tail end of the freighter, with the new ZMF van on the rear.

A few minutes later, we see the T class coasting on it's way toward Glenavy, and beyond.

Have fun!
