I was once in the spot where you are now in regards to the level of my work. I never posted shots but i looked at how people did things and used that to inspire myself to do better. It takes time to get the right feel to your work. I am hap[py to give advice in private if you want and i am sure people like patchy axe1970 forest runner woudl be happy to give you pointers and advice in private as well if asked.

if your talking about the shots on the previous page the maps a WIP and i am still working up the suburban area. But i have a suggestion this may soudn funny but is one of the things i do. Observe the local area your shopping area and see how things are laid out and just try and repeat it in trains. If you need advice by all means contact me i will see what i can do.

Daniel, I assume those R cars are Pete's old ones with new bogies and textures? They look great.... Hell, the whole route looks awesome :mop:

Some truly beautiful and inspirational shots posted since my last visit to this thread. Made my day (night) guys... thanks so much!!

Daniel, may I enquire about the name of the sky you have in the shots provided, please?? That one is a beauty!

I couldnt agree more Ghosty. Im still working on my QR Western Line west of Toowoomba, however I prefer not to release screenshots, simply because they dont live up the standard of shots in this thread, and Im only new to the whole route building thing. Im still learning a lot of things and I would one day love to release my route for everyone to enjoy, hwoever I underestimated how much work goes into a route like this, and its unbelievable the amount of peple that just say "Hey is your route done yet?" and dont cosnider how long it takes to build a quality and fully functional route.

Now a litt rant here...would anyone know how to get AI to work under DTC, no signals on my route. I was thinking of using the Trigger by loco function, that could work. Anyone have any thoughts?

Lookin' good! Always love to see big factory type complexes, and that one looks like it could have a place on any Aussie route as some kind of milling complex. I'm already thinking of a place it might look at home... Next to the cement sidings, perhaps...

Ghosty,

That is indeed what i have been doing, as well as using Google Earth to try and point me in the right direction. I suppose i just need to keep plugging away, tweaking and reworking areas to get the right feel as i get more experience.

Anyway, if you get your suburban area to a point where you feel comfortable showing it off, i would be vey interested in seeing a few shots; if you do not mind.

Patchy,

Thanks for the info on textures you use, as well as the trees. I like the way your route is shaping up; very nice!:D Particularly the texturing work.

To everyone else, nice work.

Matt.

Haha. I live on the Shorncliffe branch where Brisbane's Golden Circle plant is. Think of the eggiest fart you've ever smelt, and then let it linger for around for 2 minutes as the train pulls up to the station and sucks the outside air in for the aircon. Passengers eyes dashing around wildly wondering who dropped the stinky. First few times through that station I thought we had a serial farter on the train with deadly precision.

:hehe:

Today's random shot comes from south of the border... a crossing of vastly contrasting motive power.

Again, bit naive with VR ops, so just going off what I've seen in photos/pictures. So I've hope I've represented you guys ok.

Beautiful and majestic livery that VR Blue with Gold lining. You guys must've had the same blockheaded "genius" deface your locos and rolling stock, like we did here in NSW during the early 1980's. Fair dinkum :o .
