Certainly not, I don't say stop making them, as there are countless people out there who do like 3'6" stuff (even more who like even narrower gauge), I've just become so accustomed to using the 'out of the box' standard, its hard for this semi-old dog to get used to new tricks. So, please don't misconstrue, I love your work, and that of others, but 3'6" doesn't 'do it' for me, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate a lot of hard work and effort that goes into it :)

Thanx Muliebuck, I have also done some 2foot cane stuff that I sent out for testing and haven't heard a thing, so I should release them then.:hehe:

Mulie, your screenies just keep getting better, as do your layouts. Pity they aren't 3ft6 :hehe:

Joking. Keep up the good work mate.

I'm still working on rebuilding Geoff's crossings, with a new road base. The pedestrian gates, road barriers and lights are all Geoff's work, so I will need his approval before I can release them. I'm doing them up in both standard gauge and 3ft6, so the QLD "purists" can be happy.

I haven't touched the 2800 or 4000 in quite a few months now. The major thing missing from the 2800 at the moment is the cab, something that I'm struggling with. I'm intending to try a few new tricks with the model and texture to make the 2800 look a bit better, and then I will attempt the TS2009 graphic stuff and see how that turns out. So I'm still here, unfortunately...

Chris

G'day Chris, just remember - like poor Bruce, you're here FOREVER *bwhahahhacoughchokegasp* No, seriously, love your work, and Bruce's, and everyone else's, and thank you for the commentary on my route - its 'virtually' finished, and will be released as a 'modular' route, for others to do with it as they please, I'll release a NSW version and a QR version (both in 'standard' gauge), and if others wish to use this as an extension to an existing route, or as a 'start' point for a new route, I'd be happy with that, I'd only ask for crediting for the original work.

Come on Mulie you know you love 3ft 6. :D

Chris
Mate sorry about taking so long to send you some cab shots. Will see if i can rectify the problem.

cheers

Hey rowdy,

It's not the cab shots that are holding me back. It's making the damn cab... There's a lot more required to make a good cab. I have a fairly functional cab as it is, but it's fairly bland. I'm not overly fond of it as it stands, but I honestly don't have the patience at the moment to spend time trying to make it look right.

Thanks for the compliment Mulie. I also appreciate the hard work that everyone else puts into their work, partially because I know how hard it can be, and the rest because I think they are doing good work. I must admit that some of the Vic stuff that's coming out is great stuff too.

Chris

Well I just uploaded those few cane items, so maybe someone can grab em and do post a couple of screenies as I don't have the time to, as I am busy building more models.

DH 52 shunts a short rake of empty fuel tankers in Wherearewe yards.

Shunting move finished, the crew of DH 52 enjoy a late lunch in the crew shed, whilst DH 52 sits idle, attatched to the rake of empty wagons, which will be collected by 1723 in a few days.

Lunch over, the Drivers assitant performs the decoupling of DH 52, ensuring the wagons brakes are set.

Selkie Creek Sugar Mill - here is some *very* early preliminary work, on my attempts to create a 2' sugar cane railway, inspired by Bruce (aka Alby6), and his mentioning he's made some sugar cane tramway equipment.

My bad - you're right, I had a few ales, and got muddle-headed :) Okay, on with the show as it were! I have for your enjoyment, a little project inspired by the one and only Dreddman, who was kind enough to let me 'borrow' some scenery/texturing ideas for this new project....

Imagine if you will, a post-apocalyptic world, that so clearly come to the end of all life on this planet - humanity no longer exists, but over the interviening months, nature has wrought her magic and started to turn this blighted, nightmarish landscape back into a thing of beauty. Slowly but surely, nature takes back that which we took for granted, our technology, our homes and our way of life, will be no more, as everything falls apart and is reclaimed.

A scary thought - isn't it?

Today saw the opening of ZecRails new workshops... At 7am, the train departed Dhura Oon with a large group of people attending the opening... Mind you, they only went so they could ride behind a steam train... :P Myself, even though I'm in charge of ZecRail, I went trackside. The train ran well, with K103 sounding great working the grade out of Merebin. TS2009 was also heard working hard on this grade... We also ran a short shuttle service out to Devon junction, where we picked up some passengers who used the mainline service to reach the junction...

anyways, the pics!

K103 and TS2009 sit in the platform at Dhura Oon prior to departure...

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202739.html
K103 rattles over the Merebin River bridge at 25KM/H due to a speed restriction...

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202741.html
K103 loads TS2009 and the train across the Merebin river, again.

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202743.html
K103 pulls into Devon Junction to obtain the staff for the section... This station is intended for passengers coming on up trains to change to a rail motor service that is to be implemented in the future...

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202745.html
Having run down the dual gauge track from the Junction, K103 the train into the workshops for the first time.

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202746.html
It's now about 7:30am, and K103 coasts into the platform at the ZecRail Workshops.

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202748.html
K103 and Ts2009 rest in the platform...

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202749.html
Having shunted off the train and taken water at the 'new' water towers, K103 takes on coal from the 'new' coal stage before running back onto the turn table...

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202751.html
Now turned, K103 sits in the platform whilst waiting to depart with the shuttle service.

http://zecrail.fotopic.net/p56202752.html
K103 powers out of the ZR yard and onto the dual gauge track. The 'ground' signal is for the standard gauge line.

Hey nice work Dreddy, are these all going to be 3ft6???????? PLEASE..:D

Nice shot Dreddy, I think an old car would suit that scene perfectly. I think these things would have been common back then, but now a days, rare as hen's teeth.

An XK Falcon, first introduced in 1960 and they were American.

FordXKFalcon.jpg

I see one parked in the street just up from Alderley train station, on the front bonnet it has the letters muddled up. It says "FROD" instead of "FORD", seems typos can happen anywhere, even on cars.

This one might be done, I can't do much better with the rear I'm afraid. With rear tyres, I cut half a cylinder and shaped it to give the effect of a full tyre. It does ok, it does better on the left side than the right though.
