the time has come to stop work on this route, it is not very detailed and it is now already being done by so,done else so why bother me doing it.
not sure what route I make but every one i try build gets taken over by some else who has more expieriane and capablity than I do.
so I think I might just not make routes any more. That will be hard but will fix the problem.
Hey Ryan,
Jamie is right mate. There is no competition among any one of us and the majority, just treat Trainz as a hobby. We do it because we love trains.
Why give up on something you have started? I thought you were making good progress.
AND, ... No one takes over your routes.
No one is in charge.
No one nominates certain routes for individuals to make.
We live in Australia mate, a democratic country and we can choose, what we like and do, in our spare time.
There are dozens of people who may build a route about a particular area they are familiar with. Some people might be better at doing certain things than others; but through the forum and video tutorials, we learn how to do things better. The more you do and go back and re-do a project, you gain more experience and skills. The more you do it the better and quicker you get.
You say your layout is not very detailed. Then why not take a small section, say one baseboard and detail it the best you can. Then look at real life photos and make some comparisons with what you've done. Then go back and improve your work again. If it's not to your liking, do it again.
Just as an example, I have built my Sydney CBD layout about 20 times. I did it once and wasn't happy with it, so I started from scratch again, then again, and again. Each time I tried to make it look better. Even when I do complete my current version, I will probably find something that will make it even better, so there could be another version. But no one is holding a gun to my head and asking me to stop, because they want to build a Sydney layout.
Whatever you want to do Ryan, just do it and accept responsibility for your actions. And don't blame others for taking over your routes. Remember, we are not mind-readers - we just enjoy our trains.
Cheers,
Roy
