Australian screenshots

First attempt at both making a vid and uploading...of course first attempt at a session also....bit to learn yet but getting there...

Nice video Val. You've got a natural talent to make everything look real mate.

Videos are a great tool to use during construction of any route, because it highlights not only good camera-work, but it also picks up things that you can easily overlook in surveyor mode.

Check the passengers waiting at the first station who could be 'floating' above the platform.

Not bad for a first-timer! Keep up the good work.

Tip: Whenever you've got a session doing everything automatically, before commencing the video, start off by pressing 'F5' button to turn off driver commands and 'Ctrl H' to turn off any trackmarks and switches. This gives a full screen for the viewer to stay interested in what you are showing.

Cheers,
Roy

I'm not going to be happy until I get Sydney Harbour water colour right. I'm getting very close to it now.

PS: I gave myself another fortnight's work late last night. In a rush of 'over-tiredness' I inadvertently opened a previously saved version of my Sydney Harbour layout, made a few changes to it, then saved it with my current route file name. Why I did that I don't know. Pure madness! Anyway, the whinge-ing is over. It's not easily fixed- I'll move on and it'll be even better this time around.

Looked at the thing so often you sometimes miss the small things that make a difference to the overall appeal...you were right those people were walking on air..something I often wish I could do Roy. Slight 0.25 height adjustment fixed that up..but now I'll have to check all the damn stations! Re vid, never knew F5 existed to do that, thanks for the tip. BTW your water looks fine to me, I went darker but all subjective. Next vid will be better still.

Cheers mate.

Hi Guys,

As Roy noted I have been working on a few Sydney ferries for him, sent him the latest Fred Hollows and Catherine Hamlyn:

A few more checks before they are released.

Hi Roy, so sorry to hear of your route problem. Can you restore from your backup folder? If so you may only lose a days work.
cheers

Thanks Ian, Wonderful work mate. The sliding gates on both units work fine. I'll do some in-depth testing between wharves tomorrow.

Here's a couple of screenshots. I didn't set the time on the environment so the water looks much bluer than it should.

I've not had to do it myself, but I think TANE keeps 7 days worth of backups, may be worth looking into to save you doing the work again?

Very well done memeboy, if anyone noticed there is a drivers reflection on the windscreen, not sure if it’s real or not but it seems to be very realistic.

the slight weathering makes it look even better and if you noticed H sets have a little green plate at the front saying what set it is, just letting u know there isn’t one in this photo but not 100% sure if finnished or not.
over all it looks FANTASTIC! And as Roy said you deserve a Acadamy award for the amazing train you have created.

cheers, Ryan

Thanks Roy and barisbeer

The train is still a WIP, it's still quite a long way off, there isn't even any seats inside yet lmao

Much respect to those who are clever enough to create assets .... without them routes may well be the lesser.
And Roy... re saving issue...empathy with you from similar experience. Nothing will stop determination once it has set in. Naturally you will succeed in endeavours no matter what is put in front of you. This, I am sure, is your style.
Cheers,
Val.

Good Morning All,

With most of Bunour being near completion. I'd start Old Eagle Farm & Eagle Farm Railway Stations. Below are some very early WIPs and, oh yes now I can finally use the Eagle Farm station building which I had built :D.

Thanks mate, I missed the boat on that one. For a whole week I was working on another section of my route, which will eventually merge with the Sydney Harbour section.

So I had nothing to fall back on. I'm already into re-creating what I'd lost anyway. To remind me I have a dozen different sessions with sufficient information to duplicate it. I'm doing it faster now but its still time-consuming.

Cheers,
Roy
