Glad I could help Raichase...

With the Branchline train I would suggest making it start just before where the pass occurs but out of view to save alot of troubles trying to make it start on the Mainline:p

The session looks good and I'm looking forward to your route being released, anywho I'm off to complete the re-forestation project of Branchline2c:eek:

flathog, the branch line train in my session is player controlled, and all of the other trains are "off screen" to the player on the passenger train.

So that way, you're waiting for a minute or so each time, but they appear out of the countryside, rather than just starting up :).

I can now state Cowarie - Briffin Loop is at a stage where I would/could say it was complete but I'm not 100% happy with it.
[Will I ever be:eek: ]

44202 leads its train past a General Goods heading towards Cowarie to drop off a precious load
[The 48 behind the 442 will take one of the cars from the train past Waroona as the rest of the train returns to Cowarie, Kinambra no longer recieves the patronage it used to]

Rai: I hope that tanker train is empty. IIRC, prototypical running of a loaded 'flammable liquid' train had to have a minimum of 3 empty general goods vehicles between the guards van and the train. I'm not sure on the rules of loco>train though?

Does anyone know of where I could find some detailed maps of Menangle? I'd like to recreate some of the line. There seems to be a vast array of trains rolling through there.

It is empty. I wasn't aware of that rule! Dunno what I would use to add to the train, perhaps a couple of container flats.

Wow, those looks great Peter.
I'm guessing you know how to do load attachments now? :)
Looking forward to that track wagon as well. It'll make for an interesting wagon in those works trains :)

Pete, those are looking really nice. I especially like some of the load variety they can carry.

Is that 49 (?) Class d/l able yet? I know Colhad has a 49 on the DLS, but I can't remember if it is Indian Red or just Candy...

As to my progress, the whole session plays out to be about an hour. Is that reasonable? The only problem is that the player has to drive the railmotor backwards for the last half, and as a result the headlight doesn't shine the rails, it shines the trailer car... I don't suppose there is a rule I can trigger with the train to swap it's direction? I know I can give AI drivers that order, but not player vehicles...

So far the schedule is as follows:

5:30pm dep: Wylar.
5:35pm arr: Lowell
5:36pm dep: Lowell
5:41pm arr: Burri Burri
5:42pm dep: Burri Burri
5:47pm arr/dep Langtree Junction
5:50pm (5:55) arr: Langtree
5:51pm (5:56) move to LT Railmotor Refuge
5:58pm Evening train from Sydney arrives at Langtree.
6:00pm Evening train from Sydney departs, and player runs around consist.
6:04pm arr: Langtree
6:05pm dep: Langtree
6:07pm arr/dep LT Junction
6:12pm arr: Burri Burri.
6:13pm dep: Burri Burri
6:17pm arr: Lowell
6:18pm dep: Lowell
6:23pm arr: Wylar.

I'm pondering how to best end the session. Should I have the train run over a trigger that is a "mission complete" trigger? Because the terminus is a single siding, the train has to reverse out to the loop to run around before going back into the station. Should I make the player do that also?

Any comments would be nice. I'd like to get it wrapped up soonish, as the section between Wylar and Burri Burri is a little out of date (I like it, but I've gotten better), and I'm keen to start on larger projects now that I've got the basics down-pat.

Thanks to you guys for all the help so far. I realise that this won't be a mind blowingly fantastic route (being only a km or so of mainline and a 20km branch), but I hope people enjoy it for a run or two :).

The 49 class started life as Colhad's 49. I was lucky enough to get a copy of his mesh and with his permission I started to make it a high detail model. Unfortunately the journey between 3ds and gmax did something to the original mesh and the only thing left from the old mesh are the handrails on the long hood. I have not done bogies yet and the bogies under it are place holders from the Xclass.

The open wagons will be released with two versions of the NODY, 1 for palletized freight and the other for containers and large bits of steel. The NCBX will take containers or steel loads as will the tubemaker and red versions of the NOBX. I am going to make a pack up with the new steel loads and hopefully get it all to the DLS after the testers have comeback happy, then 2004 players will have some of the stuff the 06 players have

There is also a "speed-i-gas/Boral" NTHF industry interactive coming along, been sitting on these things to long.

Wow. A shame it didn't transfer over properly for you.

Still, from your screenie, it's looking pretty good! And going from your previous content, it should be a force to be reckoned with!

then 2004 players will have some of the stuff the 06 players have

I admire that kind of backwards support. I remember playing 2004 and seeing all the funky stuff for 2006 and being jealous.

I'll be downloading them, to use alongside the Cardiff Workshops NODYs. Variety is the spice of life, and besides, not all the NODY's in real life looked the same.

Could you tell us if it will transport the Cardiff Workshops cargoes (ie the containers, the fertilliser and the "AUS General Goods"?)

Sounds interesting :).

Cheers Pete.

pardon the bogies,

the one of the nodys uses standard pallets with 20 load points the other uses 2 load points for a mix of larger items such as 20 foot containers. If the loads you spoke of are the size of pallets they should work or if they take up half the wagon they should load

cheers
pete

pardon the bogies,

Consider them pardon'd! Thanks for the screenie, it looks GOOD :D.

Then again, I'm a sucker for new NSWGR content, especially branch line locos :P.

Thanks also for the feedback on the NODY's. The Cardiff loads seem to be pretty stable, so I imagine they would work.

@Raichase, would you be able to make your picture type "jpeg"s? That last one of yours is 522.9 kB which is pretty big. I'm not having a go at you, I'm just giving you a suggestion. sorry mate:)

Don't apologise for helping! I didn't realise they were so big D:. They are jpg's. I convert them using irfranview, and then upload to Imageshack. I didn't realise they were so big!

Any ideas on how I can shrink them?
