Long time no hear Mark
Very nice work indeed

Cheers,
Patchy

Patchy,

I have been doing things on the qt with Trainz. I am slowly working on the Western Line.... At this stage I am working as far as Chinchilla. I am not sure when I will be wanting to release or what to release (how long a section). The line Ipswich to Toowoomba was going along nicely but the comp crashed and I haven't felt motivated since to redo the sections that need to be redone...

I will keep plugging away on the western line and may have a Beta for you in the not too distant future if you like.

Mark

SERIOUSLY!! Do you know how long I have been trying to do that. So, when will it be on DLS I will defenetly download it, all you need is the loco to go with it.

-Cheers

Wow re-making the Marburg branch surely is a bit complicated....But thanks to Greg Cash it has made it a fair bit easier, with his book and the extra content on the CD. Without the QR rail plans, finding and marking in where the bridges are would be a total nightmare. Great stuff Greg, the photos and the working diagrams, plus the stations plans are really great and its been easy thus far to plan the route. Thanks.

If anyone knows of more sources for track plans, station plans, topography details, or anything else to do with the Marburg Branch please do not hesitate to PM me or reply to this, everything helps and i want to make this the best re-creation of the Marburg Branch as possible.

Cheers,
Pat

yeah all that info is in the two books i have, one written by ARHSQ Rosewood and the other by Greg Cash, at the moment i am trying to establish the locations of the bridges along the branch, then the next major step is to determine where the stations will be placed. If i may recall, during the construction of Kent's Brisbane Valley line someone picked up on the fact that one of the stations (if i remember correctly it was Yarraman) was out of position on the route ( i am not putting to Kent to shame here, i'm just using him as an example). So i just want to make sure mine is a near "replica" of the branch. Then, after all of this comes the major task of laying the track, getting the gradients correct, constructing the topography correctly, then scenery and all the rest of route construction.

I am open to others advice. If any of you have any tips on laying track with gradients and also know how to correctly position it, please dont be afraid! help is always appreciated :)

Cheers fellas,
Pat

I had a look on a map and it is only really Perry's Nob - Talabar that is really hilly. Also to, it doesn't look like the line was balasted because you can see that the sleepers are exposed. I would probably use the QR bridge track that has the sleepers. But hey, I am not the one making the route, your the one in charge so you do what you wan't I am just trying to help.

I used replace asset and put 60lbs/y rail on it to make the scene look 1890s :)

Cheers.

Playing around with detail on the 'type 2' DD class... :)

No idea if this will make it to a 'release' model at this stage...
