The Zig Zag railway is now going to be torn up :'(

Yes, Trainworks are going to regauge the old Picton-Mittagong Loop Line to 1067mm, and Picton & Mittagong will become dual gauge... :o

Whilst this is a Screenshotz thread, railway insights and knoweledge is always welcomed here... the rubbish quoted above certainly is not.

It CAN be fixed and not torn up. As stated with your scources, the reason why services were suspended were due to safety concerns. The safety concerns can be FIXED with enough funds for example. Although it may be costly, it can be saved. Maybe your wording "The Zig Zag Railway is now going to be torn up" should be "The Zig Zag Railway might be torn up"

Unfortunately kiddie foamers these days just don't know when to keep schtum on certain topics that they know bugger all about, instead they flood sites like these with their stupidity.

There are some days where I think the Internet should be banned.

Re the zig zag; many of us, self included, predate ZZR and have driven motor cars down it and realize what is there now is only there due to individual hard work. I see no reason why that spirit has disappeared so the generous spirited individuals will still eventually come forward.

The ZZR mob is professional so they will last, despite the present difficulties. The other advantage they have is the locals need them and they have local support!

G'day!

Thought I'd finally post here.

A small track I'm working on. Myself and NICNAC are both using the same route to see what we can come up with.

ok guys, i think we have seen enough, its ridiculous that one person says something and everyone has to have go at them, this pack mentality is right, even though i dont beleive that zig zag will get ripped up it would be rather awkward if he heard right

so once again its enough

A pair of DD's haul a Bendigo bound goods across the Malmsbury viaduct.

Further along, the two DD's blast through Malmsbury station.

When I was a kid travelling around QLD used to see these along the trackside especially in the bush, part of gangers camps. Fairly common through the sixties. The passengers used to throw spare newspapers and magazines to the blokes on the track gangs. Maybe not so much the good old days for those blokes, reckon they really earned their money. Also making version with tarp cover and tent.

that is bollocks if they send our qld locos to a nsw museum

Lots of non QLD museums, including NSW museums, are taking very good care of either QLD made or QLD designed or QLD used railway gear, including Brisbane trams and sugar gear!

Try the following for starters;
http://bellarinerailway.com.au/
http://www.sydneytramwaymuseum.com.au/index.html
http://www.ferrymead.org.nz/
http://www.ilrms.com.au/locomotives_steam.htm

Google more as you desire. Trace Walkers and Toowoomba built gear plus the Nm in Adelaide which is a QR C17 design built in Victoria. Also include SAR EE diesels as well as the WAGR/Westrail diesels from Rocklea.

NZ has one of our former tin sets in heavy duty commuter service in Auckland as well as many diesels made at Rocklea, Brisbane, both EE and GM, although the EE were built for NZ use.

The joke was QR sold EE Rocklea built 1300 and 2350/2370 classes to Tassie little expecting to see rebuilt former QR 1300 class later returning for commercial service with Pacific National QLD in competition against QR....

I won't list the former QLD rollingstock or locos in Thailand, Vietnam, South America, Africa or US as that is a long list and still growing. It now includes former QR electric coalfields locos and 1720 class diesels as of very recent shipments. Add in the former QR GM diesels in Tassie as well as the EE ones.

Remember, all available for screen shots in non QLD countryside so go for it !!!!

Congratulations! Now you are finally 18 you are legally able to have that XXXX beer in QLD. Hope you remember to enroll to vote?

You mentioned you were moving to South Australia. I suggest you also try their beer since you are a resident there!
