Australian screenshots

Thank you so much for the V-set Davido - the wait was well worth it. They really are beautiful models and totally compliment the earlier NSW EMUs.

And yes, I would definitely support a payware version (prefereably in the 'Blue Goose' livery which I remember seeing some of them still wearing the first time I visited Sydney in 1991).

Damn, now I have the urge to make a Sydney Cityrail-themed route to do these beauties justice (as if I don't have enough to do in Trainz already with my Perth route). :D

I did not like the PTC Blue on the B sets so I changed it to one I like. Got a bit carried away and while I had the tin of blue opened went a bit crazy.

Hello all,

Thought I would tinker around with David's newest creations on my route for some fun. I must say simply stunning work David, The detail is amazing. I thoroughly look forward to the payware ones in the future :)

Arriving Port Levendale for the first time

Even farmer Joe could'nt help himself and worked out how to take a picture on his mobile phone.

School kids even climbed the trackside fence to capture a shot or two on their phones.

Thanks once again David, your talents are very appreciated from us Aussies.

I found David's Catenary quite easy to place and adjust to match the wires etc. I think its a good system David has done for his catenary system.

Cheers

Trent

PS: Sorry the screenies are not as good as usual, forgot to boost the gfx settings from tinkering earlier when I was sorting a GFX issue.

well nice pic's guys need to get a Aussie passenger route so I can run the vset around...

any idea's that will work on TS 12 guys... something nice I don't care what the download size is if its high quality would download a gig for the right route... but Aussie stuff please......???

Today I have uploaded the freeware version of the long awaited V-Set DDIU

With the above sentence posted at Worrybrook Station, Davido has placed himself as firm favourite for this year's winner of Understatement Of The Year award.:hehe::hehe:

Haven't run it yet, as I have just found out about the release after an involuntary 22-hour absence from the forums, but if the comments are anything to go by, in 15 minutes I'll be as googly-eyed as the rest of the Aussies here!

@Targanon, I may be strung up from the catenary at Central by the other New Southern Welshman for suggesting this:p, but in the absence of any suitable electrified NSW routes, maybe a few runs on your route may have to do for the time being.

Matt.

Oh Matt I was hoping you. May be able to give a link to Central to Lithgow Route I've been dreaming about Since I ran the Penrith to Lithgow route made for MSTS. many years ago...

Seems that some Kids worked out how to hot wire the v-set.. I don't know how they got it to Port of Brisbane...

but like all things that are fun for kids ended up in tragedy..

Nice screenshots being shown here of Oz content .

To give you a little update of what I am currently doing, a few screenshots of mine of the SCT Class I am working on:

sctnew.jpg

sctnew1.jpg

sctnew2.jpg

The cab outside is just about done, only some strengthening ribs in the roof to go and some round covers in the front cowl to do. The rear end below with bumper, coupler, lights, hoses etc. is almost finished too. Please ignore bogies and any parts floating about the unit, these are just there to get me driving around in Trainz. The new bogies for the SCT/LDP/WH/XRN Classes and the 2 EDI Downer demo units will be a challenge as these have so many unique parts on them but I will get there.

I am also putting a little grime and dirt on these new SCT units as can be partly seen in the screenshots above, this will look much better in Trainz than my previous "clean", just painted locomotives I had created. You will not find any rust on these units, they are too new for rust (yet) but as they never wash and clean locomotives up in Queensland, they might soon start to rust.

Thanks go to Matt, Mark, Scott and Michael (they know who they are) for getting for me some much needed material. Without good source material, it is almost impossible to make a reasonable authentic model as there are no drawings available and next to nothing any dimensions of these locomotives. All I know is, these units are 22m long, the rest of dimensions and proportions had to be scaled of photos.

For the first time I was able to get reflection on the transparent windows, not specular but true reflection of the window glass. This looks real cool in Trainz but is not shown proper on screenshots.

Cheers

Davido,

Hate to be the first to complain (in public, anyway:p ), but your loverrrrrrrrly new V-sets appear to dislike being saved as a pre-defined consist.

Not at my home comp, so don't have a screenie of the error, but basically you place a consist, and get the bug icon in the corner. The train works, but the set number is unable to be changed, and the car numbers are also missing.

Will post screenies of the error when I get home.

Matt.

*Puts rivet counter hat on*

The V sets run as follows:

4 Car
6 Car (3+3) or (4+2)
8 Car (4+4)

They have also run in the past as 2 Car and 3 Car sets as well.

*Takes off rivet counter hat*

I do apologise but 5 car V sets just don't look right! :p
