I am uploading a video showing the section between Ingleburn and Turrella for anyone who is curious of the progress and to see how it looks from the drivers perspective. There are big chunks which haven't even had the terrain leveled to match the tracks. Only one station has had a decent amount of work done to it.

I've just finished watching your video and I must say that I'm mightily impressed by what you've acheived so far. As somebody who's driven over these sections almost daily for a little more than the last 20 years I can say that each location is readily identifiable and I think is good enough that it could be used to teach trainees.

Yes, there is some tweeking needed such as the wrong signals around Ingleburn being used in some cases but it looks like you've even created the unique station buildings used on the East Hills line.

It's normal to reach a slump with a big project like this. We all do now and again. You need to step back for a while and relax and let it finish in it's own time.

You say that you have little ability? Pish tosh to that! The platforms you've uploaded to the DLS are the only ones I use for modern NSW stations because they are entirely representative of modern NSW stations.

Keep up the great work. You're doing a masterful job.

Is it my trifocals, or is the aspect ratio off on those, patchy? For instance, it looks like anything over a 3 or 4 MPH curve would tip over those trucks easily.

Nice screenies though.

I think you might be right Hiballer ....

I live in QLD and I don't think the narrow gauge trains are that narrow LOL..

Dealdy you keep it up you are raising the bar for realism in your scenery.. Great job..

Thank goodness I am not the only one who has this visual problem!! Same for the locos. Has the forum image itself been squeezed in sideways to fit the forum page but appears correct width on Trainz itself?

Thanks
Peter

I figured it was something like that. When I first got my 1600x900 monitor, I messed up badly with my ratios also. TRS2004 wouldn't even go to 16x9 so none of the ratios worked well.

the way it worked in the past bearcat, was that you applied chrome as the metal finish and env_metal to give the shine

It's been a while between drinks. Been adding steadily to my route, although I had forgotten the p/w to my Photobucket account for a while there  .

Thanks to David for the Interail livery, so that my arch nemesis 42202 can be chased around my layout without worry (in real life, this locomotive, along with 42105 and 42107 is very hard to track down!).

I hope the garish rainbow livery didn't hurt your eyes too much? It's a much better fit on the 421's, but I still think 42202 and 42206 have a certain... attraction. At any rate, they'd make a good mardi-gras float!

They always seem to be hovering around down here at North Dynon Trent, not uncommon to have both 421 or 422 classes here at the same time (or one of each). It's a good looking livery I reckon :)

Tom, so it would seem. 42206 is more or less permanently assigned as the Dynon pilot/shunter, except when it is called into service to bank the western trains to Adelaide. 42105 and 42107 are trickier, they are sometimes sent to Sydney to shunt Yennora and work the Glenlee - Yennora trip trains, while other times they are sent to Brisbane to be the shunter at Acacia Ridge. 42202 is in a similar boat - normally based in Sydney, but it can also move around a bit, being used as a bank engine, or the Acacia Ridge shunter... The two QRN X Class seem to more or less reside in Sydney, although recently they've seen some use on the mainline.

RailCorp don't like the use of older DC locos with the LDP's and 6000 Class locos - if QRN want to mix locos, RailCorp specifiy that the older DC locomotives must be placed in the lead (which I imagine is the opposite of what the crews want), which usually leads to all LDP combos, with the occasional 6000 class mixed in, or all DC (CLF, CLP, G, X, 421, 422) combos, at least where the train will have to pass through RailCorp trackage.

The trains departing Glenlee for Melbourne can have any mix of locos, as I don't believe ARTC has any restrictions of that kind on motive power. A nice example in recent months was when 5BM7 failed at Cowan, and missed the peak curfew. Due to a blowout of crew hours (I suspect), it finally departed Glenlee the following morning, making for a nice chase from Exeter to Bethungra:

LDP/X/X/421? Yes please!

Excuse the OT, it's way off OT as none of the locos mentioned are actually avaliable in Trainz :hehe:
