From The Commissioners Desk

Evan, I got your email, I will add it to the revised B13 becuase I found out it is tiny compared to the D17 { I have sent the D17 off to my friend; Greg Cash to have a look at it}. I look forward to having a go at making some items on the Camden line. I can make a Camden Z20 or just anything simple; I can only try my best. I look forward to taking a break from Qld for a little while. :p

My hopes and best wishes go to those who are in the flooded regions of NSW and Queensland.

Michael, glad to hear you haven't been flooded out. I've done a mesh for your B13's boiler barrel and firebox. Hopefulling it is of use to you. The D17 is looking very nice so far. It looks rather overscale though, judging by the grid map. Don't push yourself too hard. Take a break when you want, and don't worry about the gimme pigs. It's your layout, take it at your own pace.

Forest, I look forward to your email. If you want, I will email you what reference material I have on the Camden line if you're interested.

Cheers, Evan.

This thread has become a little sombre, so let's add some cheer.

Thanks to:
Zec for the track.
Evan for the timber faced platforms.
Pete (as ever) for buildings, locomotive and rolling stock.

It's because of you guys, scenes like this can live on in the virtual world.

Cheers.

Firstly Georgem, Trainman & Scratchy... some damn nice shots of some nice workings there fellas. Think they've gotten a little lost in some of the other banter, but very well done.

Late on in the week, mate. Give you some more time to settle with the job ;)

Lovely work on Falls creek there Forestrunner, just remmeber, *I* have the market in making small, modular routes *chuckles* nah, just kidding - love it mate, looks fantastic, I got to ask though, what platform you're using - looks perfect for some ideas I'm getting.

You certainly do have this market, Mulie... and it inspires us all. Thanks for the wrap. We (all of us that is) have the ability to create some really nice scenes due to the awesome content available to us. A far cry from the Trainz 1.3 days!!

The platforms are Evan's and are available from the VicTrainz site in the Content Release forum. Just one thing... they are objects. I was going crazy searching for them as splines!!

First off, to fellow Trainzers up in Queensland, hope you are all reasonably safe, if not dry, and that family and friends are all accounted for. Watching the news the last few days, and living right on a river myself, it's hard not to shudder when i see and hear what you guys are going through in this period.

Forest, I also have the platforms by Evan, and did make the suggestion over at Victrainz that making spline versions would increase their versatility in-game.

So, @Evan, I understand that you may be busy, and as such may not have much time for Trainz at the moment, but when you do get some time, spline versions of your platforms would be very nice.

Some great shots from everyone the last few days.

Cheers,

Matt.

G'day!

Here's one from my newest route, Dennerson Island, based on Tasmania! :) I've used the 4ft 2in gauge for this route, I've converted some of davido and natvader's NSW rolling stock into 4ft gauge so I could use them on this route, here, two of Pikkabirds QR 1502 classes cross Boyer Inlet with a small goods.

Cheers! :)

@Jake, Very wounderful. I hope to buy one of those 1502 locomotives and open a museum in Maryborough or some place with massive yards with a turntable, and sheds also I hope to build a working coal-stage; but All when I am older & wiser with money to burn. Sadly the class leader of the 1460 & even the 1502 classes; 1460 & 1502 has gone oversea's sadly becuause thats the classleader and QR should have kept it with 1461 Centennial. What a shame
:(

Would anyone happen to have or know the where abouts of a tutorial

I have never seen one, however, if you have the auran mesh cd's there are several examples on there that you could learn from.

I attempted a very simple non animated one once, but I have not got around to exporting it yet. What I tried was using the steam loco one and the importing the boiler/smoke box, domes and smoke stack from a model I was building and then deleting the front of the smoke stack that you could not see from the cab and any boiler/smokebox faces or polys that you could not see from the cab. Hope that has been helpful, you can PM me if you wish.

cheers

Q.G.R 1897 Walkers Ltd. B15 Converted 299

G'day Everyone.

I just spend all this morning cleaning up with the Brisbane City Council work gangs to make Brisbane clean again. I am off again tommorrow, it is very fun; Mother nature ruined my holidays, so it payback time :p .
------------------------------------------------------------
I have been jointly working with Greg Cash to make the very first locomotive built by Walkers Ltd of Maryborough, Qld. Thankfully; Q.G.R B15 Converted 299 is preserved in Maryborough.
I have added the number plates & something that is missing from every [or most] QR locomotive in trainz is the proper builders plates that was built with the model locomotive; so I have found a rare Walkers builders plate picture from 1909 and so I have used that. I would like to have someone make it into trainz for me becuase I have no idea what is the deal with a shadows?, attachment points? & steam effects?. Thats would be just so helpful, please don't be afraid to email or PM me.
So enough of the press-conferencing here is B15 Converted 299, in the erecting shops of Walkers Ltd, Maryborough:

P.S I will start on the Camden stuff when this B15 Converted 299 is commissioned & goes into traffic.

Michael, people say steamers are the hardest to build in trains, but you've hit the nail on the head with this!
I saw one when I went up to Qld a few years ago (I think)

Looks very nice

Jamie

Jamie, I only started making steam trains or just anything in Gmax this month:hehe: , I have had little help my my good friend from the ARHS Qld. Professor Greg Cash. We meet up at Rosewood and drive trains, then talk about trainz.

I would really like someone to help get these grand dames into trainz, so people can enjoy the majic of steam.

so please do PM or email me.

if this is a converted auran train from the cd and if you did not disturb the att points(the blue 3 pointed arrows)in your screenie, then it should still line up. if the loco is longer then maybe you will need to adjust limback, limfront and the bogie att points. bogies can be done by adjusting and exporting to game an re adjusting re exporting etc. *****it is advisable to adjust att points in top view******

shadow, make a copy of the loco body or save as shadow in gmax and then remove couplings hoses att points delete all the little bits yet maintaining the basic boiler cab chimney domes shape when yo have done that, select all, group then apply a pure black texture rgb 0,0,0 any size to the group. Save as "shadow" there is your shadow complete before export. post when you have done the shadow.

Thanks pete.

I ahve done that. but could you email me; I really want to learn from the master, get the config set up for trainz and get these texture bugs exterminated  . The locomotive is a kitbashed from the Auran PB15 and elements from Greg Cash's C17 gmax file. I hope you like it.

Cheers Michael G

Reporting from Central Railway Station, Brisbane

Hello Again

@Falcon500; very very nice. I hope I will be seeing a couple of my locomotives such as the B15 up your way becuase they were allocated to the Central Division, some as local goods and shunters in Rockhampton. I will be redoing the PB15 tender to fit my B15 Converted.

@Mulie; Keep those routes going, becuase where would I run my new toys :hehe:
@Forrest; Looking great, and i will start on camden after the B15 is commissioned and could you send me some refference material for Camden.
