Australian screenshots

Pete I'm sorry too hear that
I can't believe they just expect someone too do that

Did they offer you plans or drawings??
FR I'm nit going too comment on your shot
Jamie

Forrest, that screenie is like an oil painting,

JJ I'm not going to comment anymore, the person knows who he is, that sufficient

Forest, That is an absolutely great shot. Reminds me of the photos of the Budd and Tulloch cars being towed behind all types of loco in my local area during the 80s and 90s. A sight which I was too young to see unfortunately:( I wonder if it would be possible to reskin Pete's Tulloch car into SRA livery? Only one way to find out...

A container train and a wheat train await their departure times at Karrah Bay. The wheat train has just arrived from Wattle Creek and the container train locos have just completed their ran around to head to Wadalbavale. The wheat train will wait for a few hours before it departs.

Thanks for wraps guys... only inspires me to do more. :D .

Forest, nice shot. New section of your route, or new route all together? Either way, looks good, and i like your use of grass (JVC, no doubt?) in the area. Gives it a very nice feel.

Well done,

Matt.

It's the SAR Melton Valley route I'm slowly progressing on. The modular version of the terminus is on the DLS :p . Some grass and the mixed grass/bush splines are indeed the JVC gear. I also mix it up with Roberto Conti's grass objects titled "ciuffi"... then submerge these into the ground by anything from -1.8 to -2.2. I think it breaks the splines up a bit.

is that caption from a book called south australian diesel pictoral, the 80's?

I have it on an A4 size laminated placemat type thing I picked up from a model train exhibition. Location of this is quoted as Balhannah with Mark Carter as the photographer. I saw it as an unusual working and threw it into Trainz.

Could well be in the book you quote, as some of the NSWGR stuff I have in the same laminated format, I also see in publications.

Forrest, that screenie is like an oil painting,

Thanks Pete. I think the sky might be an influence in your way of thinking about the painting. Comments like this from a master content creator are inspirational and want to make me do things better.

Sorry to hear about your recent incident. Uncalled for, but great to see your spirit hasn't been dented.

Thanks mate. I posted it more of an unusual working - but factual, and for something different.

I was a frequent rider on the South Coast Daylight (Sydney-Nowra) as a kid. This was exclusively hauled by a 421 class with the said Budd and Tulloch cars. It was certainly a unique working. Later on the SRA painted a pair of 44's in "Grey Ghost" livery when the 421's were displaced.

Ooops... sorry to ramble... and no screenshot!!

I got to confess, I'm in awe of the quality of routes being produced by many talented creators of late, very impressed gentlemen, and hope the quality continues to inspire :)

HANG ON!! This fellow is usually the one doing the awing. If he's impressed...  . Sorry Mules, but its true though. I'm pretty sure you'll be joining the mix at some stage. Nice to see you're still lurking about mate. There has been some spectacular posts in the last few weeks. Will look forward to getting into some soon maybe.

Two screenies from me. A C17 heading to Yarraman is negotiating the 1 in 40 grade on the Blackbutt Range.

- Kent

Blackbutt?? :hehe:

Seriously though Kent, beautiful shots. What a wonderful creek/river effect you've come up with there. The rockfaces in the greenery compliments it perfectly.

I'm really looking forward to your BVL project. I'm hoping it inspires more 3'6" gauge routes and content.

Dear Ken,

Can you please tell me where I could get those bridges below & The Timber Bridge being crossed by a QGR RM 2000. I can send you my QR C16 if you want.;)

Kind Regards

Yeah I know right. But in fact the town of Blackbutt is named after the blackbutt trees (Eucalyptus) native to the area.

Forest Runner, have you received an email from me? If not I'll try again :)

well trainz89 what can I say, Except that you did not make those items. They are available from Paul Hobbs of 44090 digitalmodels easily found at his website.
So apart from you being the person of whom I spoke previously wanting lots of content you are now laying claim to making something that you did not create.
Paul Hobbs does not mind if these items are used in the course of making a model, but I am sure that he would take great exception to you laying claim to their authorship. I am stunned by your behaviour in this place.

Pete, my only suggestion is to ignore the user in question - I've been doing so for a year or so now, it's the only way to deal with them. I skim over their posts and ignore their screenshots, instead turning to those who deal in quality work (we all know who they are!).

Anyway, been a very busy week with work, so today was the first go I've had at Trainz for a couple of weeks now. Nearly up to 12km from Linton (the station I've posted most recently) with Risdon Junction. I had a bit of fun modelling the disused and mostly ripped up yard and branch line. The loop and part of the livestock siding are avaliable as a perway siding, or perhaps to drop off a defective wagon if required.

4418 is doing the honours, hauling an all stations pass to Linton, making a "request stop" at Risdon for a passenger to board.

Passing through the yard. The branch line once branched off from the loop where the stop block is

Arriving into the... rather short... platform. Typically only a single CPH would be needed to use the platform at any time, although with the services on the branch long since suspended, now the mainline trains call at this station

Waiting for the passenger to board with their luggage

Departing the platform... Next stop, Linton.

It takes about 10 minutes to drive between Risdon and Linton if you're following the speed limits. Just four more boards to texture, and then it's time to continue west!
