hi all

my pc is acting up, so i cant sent any pics

is there any work being done on the john brown private coalways around the newcastle area?

i tried to find info , but not much out there

thought it would make a good route from the mines via the powerhouse to the docks

any ideas from anybody?
thanks
ron

It's hard to find any significant info online. The best bet is this book, which is incredibly comprehensive.

Coal, Railways and Mines - Brian Robert Andrews

I ended up getting two copies. The revised edition had some more material, and I'd almost used the first one to death... Unfortunately both are back in Australia, but the second edition contains some more info. There are a few other books out there, but this would be considered the ultimate 'gospel' of the Richmond Vale Railway. It's an expensive book, but there's a very good reason. Incredible photos, info, maps, grade diagrams... Everything needed, really.

I was working on the RVR (or at least the track over DEM terrain) before moving to the UK. It's a shame I don't have that. I had one version based in the early 80s before it closed just going to Stockrington, and one with the track at 'full' extent based in 1955.

I really ought to get that computer shipped here...

I do hope the author is continuing his work on a simillar book on the South Maitland Railways.

re signals

G'day Trent,
Could you enlighten me on the 2 types of signals that you are using in photos 3 & 4.

Thanks Joe.

ps. Great screenshots.

Hello Goanna,

Bearcat is correct they are Natvanders signals, picture 3 is 3asp Auto and picture 4 is 3asp RD (Right diverge) signals. All are on DLS and I think most are included in 2006, 2009 and 2010 if I remember rightly.

@ Pete (AD602000) Love those new silo's and the flour mill mate. Have put some to good use in Port Levendale branch line. Thanks for uploading them Pete :)
Cheers

Trent.

Hey Falcon, what's the sand texture in your shots?? And the Texture near the creek, might need those textures for a rural route I'm planning. Great shots everyone, none from me, using an iPad

All the textures are my own except for ballast, so if you search TRS2006 ground textures under my user name you should find what you want.
Cheers Will

Hi guys,

Great shots everyone. Trent, thanks for the info on the bridge. I think it'll look good as part of Nilligottim, somewhere along the branchline. I'm finally going to start working on that, as it will form the first town on my current WIP.

Matt.

Glad I could assist Matt, I wasn't going to use them, but once I placed the bridge I sort of liked it. So gave it the benefit of the doubt LOL

A few more from me, Got a bit trigger happy with print screen this morning.

THANKS PETE!!

Excellent screenshots all. Trent... Legend - wonderful scenes!!

Many thanks Pete for the silos...these are just outstanding. These will become legacy content for Aussie route builders for some years to come. Just showing off some views near and far...

Sure, this one's not NSWGR, but still the suitability for other rail systems is fine... as well as still providing a good buddy for the d150 type facility.

Trent,

Awesome screenshots you can see a real improvement in your work. I am going to have to lift my game.

Forrest Runner, Just installed TS2010 and then your route. It is awesome. I am inspired once again. (Again I am going to have to lift my game ;)

ad602000...... Love those silos. I have them all now and they are already being used. Thanks.

Regards

Is there a Silverton tramways 48 out there in the red and silver - I do not remember ever seeing a trainz one

Bearcat... there's a red/silver 830 - "silver830"

I don't have it installed myself, so can't vouch for it

Thanks axe, glad you like it. It's developing slowly and steadily, by extending the line out as well as some improvements and tweaks to the original module. Hopefully it evolves into something meaningful to release at a later date.

Pete - excellent, I look forward to adding the flour mill to my route at some point. As a side note, I've figured out the use of the "Basic Industry New" or whatever it was called, so your silos are happily loading grain on my route not :).
