And now for a little dash of QR to brighten your day.:hehe:

Countess Street bridge, just to the west of Roma Street Station in Brisbane. The tracks on the left go onto the Exhibition Circuit.

The Brisbane River, with the Riverside Expressway on the right bank, the William Jolly Bridge in the foreground and Merivale rail bridge in the background. I haven't done the Go Between yet.

The DE for this route was kindly made by Jerker at www.victrainz.com.au (BTW I still need a couple of extensions from you, please check your PM inbox), William Jolly and Merivale Bridges made by vulcan, 3ft 6in track made by Elvenor, and CityRail style platforms made by Deadly. Al other content made by other creators.:hehe:

Happy Trainzing!;)

Pete, that was me. Was just curious as to whether you would still be creating for 04/06, given the announcement by Auran, RE: support for above versions. Good to know, as there are now a few new items to look forward to for those of us who haul grain 'round NSW.:D

One last question, before i go: Would these silos look out of place on a modern era NSW route, or are there more appropriate items i should look out for?

Cheers,

Matt.

Matt,

Those silos would certainly not look out of place - one has only to pick up any railway magazine to see that these silos are still alive and well. Yes, there are modern silos out there, but a lot of these old varieties are still in good condition, and are used to load trains, especially in the more rural areas. Throw in some modern conveniences, like an airconditioned office, and some modern trucks and sheds, and they'll look right at home.

A good example is the silo still standing at Illabo (I'm not sure if it's used for grain loading anymore though):

Raichase,

Thanks mate for the fast reply. I should really start recording this info somewhere; it's all handy.

Matt.

I know what you mean - there is so much information out there, but it's not collated and kept in one location. I go mad trying to remember which issue of which magazine has information on which company or loco class... It's part of the reason I work on my blog, to try and put some of this information in one place online for people to reference!

Great screen-shots every one. Trent and Forrestrunner again. Especially! :)

Thanks for the comments Mike. Glad you got TS2010 :D

CFCLA/ AN EL Class Loco

Hi Trainzerz!!!

I'll put my route off for a bit. make it a bit better. Does anyone know what happned to Mainnorthern?? He was doing a CFCLA and AN livered EL Class Loco. I was hoping to use them, but he seems to have disapeared. Any news??

Thanks, SARRailways :):D:):D

Hi guys,

Could somebody please point out a comprehensive list of (freight) rolling-stock commonly in use in NSW, within, say, the last five years? Haven't really been able to find much on the 'net. Is there anything out there, that you know of?

Matt.

Sorry to go back on an old discussion point, but are you aware of the ARTC's TOC manual? This might be of interest to you:

Have a bit of a dig around, see what you can find. Generally you'd be able to marry up the class with a google images search if you're interested in photos.

Garrad,
Thanks for that. I am aware of the ARTC site. I've had a good look at it before. What i'm after is not so much locos, but more the wagons in use so i can work out what i need for a modern image NSW route. Mitch456yui provided me with a link that looks to contain the info i need in that area. Perhaps the two sources can be used in conjunction. Not too sure about that; i'll have to look at it and see what they offer.

Matt.

I will attempt to find out if there has been any progress on these but it is unlikely

The TOC manual details all locomotive classes and wagons that can be used on the ARTC network by the various operators. Have a poke around, you'll find a massive list of codes, as well as any restrictions on the wagons use on the ARTC network.

As for present day wagons, there is little avaliable for Trainz (although Matt did make some awesome CQBY wagons which are perfect for use behind ARG locomotives, Silverton C Class, etc). A lot of the wagons in use are modified Freightcorp wagons, as well as those built by National Rail, etc. A lot of the wagons made for Trainz have fallen into disuse in the last decade, although some do still see service.

Cheers for the help, Raichase, Mitchy456yui and Garrad. It looks like i'm going to have to do some serious research, eh? I guess what i can do is dial back the time frame to the late 80's/early 90's, if i have to.

I notice too that the Mule is back; welcome back mate. This thread won't be as boring now.:hehe:

Matt.

I think the 90's gives you the best freedom to model - unless you want to run around with PN liveried rolling stock (which reminds me, we need to get Davido to reskin his 48 class into that less-than-exciting PN livery, haha :hehe: ). You can still get away with using the 44, 442, 422 classes, with any livery you feel suits. At a pinch, you can still use locohauled passenger trains too. Don't forget, you can still use the V-Set when it is released!

another grainy picture, I did this one from a photo so it's probably not quiet accurate as I only had a part side view and I dont know the correct name of the building, but I thought this name would fit into most places

Pete - I don't care if the real thing is a flying spaghetti monster, what you've made is just what my routes have been crying out for! I'm picturing this building, a nice silo nearby, a couple of sidings and a loading bank... A single 48 class to shunt it... Mmmm.
