Axe,

Thanks for the route. I'm sure it will avail us all of hours of enjoyment.

By the way, you might need to change the signature now that the route is released.:hehe:

Regards,
Warren

Thanks Warren. Here is a temp sig for now. :) Anybody know how to link the sig to the dls. I used to be able too, but can't seem to get the links right.

Regards

Double 44's shatter the silence as they lead No3 Brisbane Express North through the quiet Farmland.

a big thanks to Davido and Natvander for the wonderful FS BS and MHOs now on the DLS.

Here's another I posted in the thread in the Freeware Announcements forum. I really like this one for reasons I can't totally explain... No 651 Goods bound for Clyde with 4415 & 4522 leading.

(Ahhh... the days before all the horrific modern day colours/liveries!!).

Esk Gantry, this static model (non industry interactive) has been uploaded to the Auran DLS, courtesy of Dreddman, who gave me permission to upload it. I hope you all find a use for this model on your own routes, and full credit to Dreddman for the model.

What's that headlight in the distance? Is it? IT IS! IT'S A BANDWAGON! Well, who am I kidding, I like a good wagon of bands, so lets go.

I am posting (*drumroll please*) screenshots of axe1970's new route. You, up the back of the room, stop pretending to look shocked... I have no idea where I took most of these (I'm sure axe does though). 110km of track is a lot to remember specific screenshots after an hour of driving a train gets you almost halfway!

I drove 4501 on an all-stations Tarin Rocks to Georgetown service (As I imagine this route to be in Central-Western NSW, the train would then go on to Lithgow and then stop Mt Victoria (the real one), Katoomba, Penrith, Parramatta, Strathfield and Central.

42209 slows for the stop at Tarin Rocks with the up express. Today the train consists of a single MHO luggage/mail van, four air-conditoned carriages and a power van on the end

It's hard not to like candy...

Now, with the shiny screenshots out of the way, I can talk about how awesome this route is. The sheer scale of it is mindboggling - few routes of this kind of quality can maintain it for an entire 110km! The vast forests, gaping gorges, right down to the bloke sitting on the fence watching the train pass at Tarin Rocks (I'll let you all pause for a moment to go find him).

The ONLY criticism I would have (and it's a minor one) is that the signalling of the route doesn't really "work". The bi-directional running is awesome, if only we had that kind of signalling all over the network, you'd have less delays due to broken down trains. The problem is, the lack of junction specific signalling (I'm guilty of racing through a set of points too fast and flying off more times than I can count). I think it would add a great deal to the route to have signals at turnouts displaying an aspect to show the driver if he is diverging or not.

Now, with that said, NSW signalling is far from a simple concept, some signals are unique to some lines, and others are even unique to a specific yard in the state. So yeah, it's a minor point, but one that I wanted to point out.

Oh, and finally? Including not one, but TWO sessions with the route? Pure genius, I wish more route makers would do this, as it makes playing on a brad new route a heck of a lot less daunting, to watch the AI drive it first. So many times I've been driving along, happy as larry, only to realise that at some point I've branched off the mainline without realising it, and have taken my express passenger train right into the middle of a steelworks. Whoops!

can someone tell me how to install the QR bb18 interior please

Well, if you have the cab assets then find the KUID number. Once you have found it, find the loco you wish to put it in and right click on it and highlight the "Edit" tab. 7 more tabs will appear, you need to click the "Edit in Explorer" tab. A file will appear, one will be labelled "config.tex" Open it and you should get a notepad file like this:

I have used another loco to show what I mean. You should then look for the "Interior" line

The KUID number will be next to it. Highlight it and then with the cab file you should have copied go "Ctrl+V" The KUID number should now have been changed to the one you wish to use. Just make sure that it is only the KUID number visable, no writing giving the cab's name. Then File; Save then exit the window. Go back to Content manager and commit the loco asset. It should now work. If it doesn't, well, I've been known to mess up instructions... A LOT:hehe:

Hope this helps
Cheers
