Australian screenshots

SCREENSHOT TEST

I am currently lost in a Help Desk void - can't get 10 to work and my CMP won't update in 06.
So while I sit in the long line for help I have decided to publish some shots from my big fictional route set in Northern Tasmania (with a tunnel link to the mainland) - more about that later.
Here are 2 shots (hopefully) from the historical village of Oxford.

(I don't create - and eternally grateful to those who share their efforts)

Looking down what was the olf North Coast Highway towards Oxford station.
In the foreground is the farmer's market run by the local Indian farming community.

A local passenger service at Oxford station.

Once I get the uploading processing sorted I'll start telling the story of my route.

Again there has been some great screenshots by everyone, congratulations all.

@Matt, many thanks for the new CQBY's and Containers.

@Nick, I like your first screenshot of the street, great work.

You ask how big it is, it's 45 miles or 71 km. The prototype lasted 60 years the longest of the four narrow gauge under Vic railways control, a pity that someone could not have preserved it. Too far from Melbourne to have been another Puffing Billy line.

STILL TESTING

Thanks Craig. I've certainly appreciated your contributions over the years.

Trying to settle on a picture size and get the shots better.
Here are two more from the same area...
Just outside Oxford is the ruin of a major convict prison. Today it's a tourist attraction with the old Sydney double decker buses running shuttles from the Oxford station to the ruins.

The next station (towards Devenport) is Highgate - an older holiday villiage, providing a shletered cove for boats.

Thanks to all the scenery providers

Ironwood a type of gum. Probably one of the last lots of trees I'll be making for TRs2004. The final ones will be a set of wattles. Would have liked to have made some coastal trees, like cottontrees and pandanus, but don't see the point anymore. Guess someone else can have a go.

I have been trying hard to get back into Trainz after losing a bit of interest with some computer problems a while ago and now this. I feel as though Auran are pushing us or forcing us to move up to the newer version. I am happy with 04 and like it emensly. Now the rot is setting in to content creators who are making content for the version I love so much! Thanks Auran for the kick in the teeth:'( . Sorry for the rant but thats how I feel. I hope you and others will keep making content falcon. I only dream of being able. I just don't seem to have the computer skills or the grasp to do it.
Glen

Good Ironbarks falcon and many previous pages I've sifted through are fab productions.

We here ya Glen! It seems as if my opinions not going to make a blind bit of difference on what Auran plan to do in regards to `04. Unsure if that makes the rest of us feeling exempt aswell, although there's only one solution to a problem of this magnitude and that's entirely Auran's decision in the end. I for an I would like to see the older content stay as it's still going to be commonly and most frequently used.

`09 was my last action trip with the TRS titles, `10 would be usless to me as it's not backwards compatible (thankfully I don't have), and any further title will be heading for a downward spiral. It's painful to see that Auran keep changing the code each time a title is released and making it more complex on the creators behalf... Just my quarter of cent's worth of spiel.

Glen, stay focused on your passion as an engineer mate, you should be greatful to have a position that many of us once or still dreamed about and ofcourse; keep enjoying your virtual one too.

I still create in 04, because it's a lot simpler and faster to get in and out of to do progressive updates on works in progress after ingame stage is reached, cant see that changing

TRS2004

Congrats to Patchy for his marvelous Cloncurry route, great work mate.
A few things about Auran and 2004, doubt that they will change their mind about stopping uploads of 04/06 assets. Seems to be just to force purchase of latest and greatest. Agree that DLS should be available for all Trainz users to upload and download content no matter what version they have.
My situation is that I have to finish QR Rockhampton before the deadline, plus some more buildings for it before the deadline. I was planning on adding the now closed branchline to the coast at Port Alma. If there is time to do that I will, and make trees for that. Mangroves and other coast trees. Hope to make sapling versions of larger trees, but as finishing route number 1 priority that may not happen. Route is already about 35mb CDP. Have made a fair bit of content for this to try and reflect the look of the real area, trees, textures and some houses. Here are 2 shots of the hills heading north to Yaamba.

I am really sorry to hear about Aurans decision to cut back support for older versions, as I have never had a problem with any content made for TRS04 or 06. Davido and ad602000 are two people who I know create for 06 and 04 respectivly and I use a lot of their content, with no problems.

I do apologise for my absense recently, my computer died, and I had to get a new one (which is a Trainz running BEAST). I did have to take a bit of time off from the forums here as I was busy trying to secure the thousands and thousands of real-life train photos I have taken (those of you that know my Flickr collection, this is only one tenth of the photos, so far behind am I with processing).

That said, there has been some amazing content released, I am working on getting TS2010 set up on this machine now, and I look forward to downloading some awesome new content as well as playing some more awesome Trainz!

Pete
