AC16 218A made its first run under its own power since 1969 (39 years), on the 3rd September 2008.

This locomotive as of 22nd November 2008 was not officially an operations locomotive and was still under workshop care and authority being tested and run on limited services, on this particular day, BB18 1/4 1072 was also in steam due to concerns early in the day which were resolved resulting in both locomotive being able to lead the last leg of the 3pm passenger service of the day.

AC16 218A has also been renumbered 218 for operational purposes.
Her Maiden Voyage however was a day over 2 months ago now Trainz89 so you are a bit late.

Tom

EDIT: A video of the event can be seen here: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=SaR65FQFFAg

Why would you want to renumber my 3/4 finished AC16...."LOL"
when you can change the running numbers and destination boards.....
anytime you want Like all my models I am stalled at the moment ..(for time) and CMP hates my configs .....I tried some months ago to upload the C17 its finished but the DLS/CMP knocked it back :'( sorta gave up after that
Now I find Railway officials and Creditors discussing the future of the restoration projects....................:p
