Australian screenshots

Roy3b3, you have done a great job Roy, keep up the good work.
Sorry for not being around that much i went on a holiday to Thailand for 3 weeks and then i have been sick for a while {not because of Thailand} now i am back up and running full steam ahead.
I seem to be spending more time on the Sydney to Gosford route i am building in the loft on top of my garage than the route on my computer.
Take care all

Thanks for the compliment Steve, but without people like you, who create the models in the first place, the rest of us would not have much to play with.

Look after yourself mate!
Cheers, Roy

Fantastic work fellas :D

Hi Everyone
Thanks for starting the discussion about HD textures etc and showing your work.
Your tips are helping inspire me to keep plugging away.
To try and show the differences I am seeing, I have a picture from a few weeks ago.

A shot from yesterday from a similar angle
New%20textures_zpsxkwkuqnu.jpg.html

I agree the new textures make a huge difference, especially to close up shots.
I will be chasing some more of the textures and scenery suggested above, thanks very much to the people who made them.
Did I say thanks to the guys at Australian Trainz Division for their stuff?
Thanks fellas
I will still be using a lot of older content, even if a lot of the older content doesn't throw shadows (Might be my settings of course)
Older%20buildings%20dont%20throw%20shadows_zpsoox0mfeh.jpg.html

The old content still looks OK from a distance
Still%20look%20OK%20in%20the%20distance_zpsv6zanln6.jpg.html

and some of the new track looks really good.
Some of the cab views are interesting

I agree that the older trees can be a problem, but who looks at the trees?

So for what its worth, Southlines is still happening. It cant help show its age (parts pre UTC) but I hope I can polish it up to something half decent.
Bye for now,
Tom

Well it looks like I have had the usual stuff up with photobucket.
I think I will go and straighten some track.
The pictures did look good here!

A pair of DDs lead an excursion special out of Orbost on a bleak day.

A few moments later, and the two locos are seen on one of the large bridges at Orbost.

The two DDs put on a shot whilst crossing the Boggy creek bridge at Nowa Nowa during a photo run by.

Hi Guys,
I've cloned my Sydney Central layout and slightly modified it back to the early 1950s, which was just before Platforms 1-9 were electrified. I was only 14 at the time and I remember the 'Country' trains were mostly 'steamers'. But in 1953 NSW saw 10 new 41 Class Diesels hit the rails,... a sign of things to come. Ten years later a Tuscan Red 48 Class from the South Coast would take me to work in the City each day.

Here are a couple of screenshots around Central.

It's 8:00am in the morning and three 'Reds' arrive fully loaded at Central.

Hi Roy, great work! Nice to see some vintage stuff around Sydney for a change, they really have some character.
cheers,
Graeme.

A couple more shots from Central Station "Country Trains"

A VR D560 arrives on Platform 1 with State Pollies from Melbourne for their Annual Picnic at Rushcutters Bay. An election is not on at present.

Always a lot of activity happening at Central. NSWGR #5909 arrives on Platform 4 from the Blue Mountains while NSWGR #3601 slows to its berth on Platform 3. To the left in the distance a Silver NSWGR U Set heads for Penrith.

Cheers, Roy3b3

Hey Roy, now all you need is an old red PMG phone box and the transition is closer to complete. closest I found was kuid273129:101354
cheers,

Well, it looks like someone has pressed NSWGR 41 Class #4102 back into service.

NSWGR 41 Class #4102 slows as it passes the Mortuary Station, while NSWGR #5909 awaits the casket and mourners to board for their journey to Rookwood Cemetery.

NSWGR 41 Class heading for Platform 1 passes a QR Garratt warming up for its return journey to the Sunshine State. (The paint job on the Garratt could only be handled at Eveleigh Workshops, Ipswich had run out of that colour).
Cheers,
Roy3b3
