Thanks Herb, yeah I see most HD tele's now come with Duel-link DVI ports, how is it on frames ? I might one day consider it after my next system upgrade.
Marty

Should not make any difference as it is your video card handling the frame rates. I have a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB Video Card in my work (3DS Max) PC system, no problems there with frame rates. When I upgraded my HD TV to a 60 inch 3D HD one, I used my slighly older Hitachi 40 inch HD TV it replaced as a monitor now. Everything is BIG on it, down to the little details, hence....

Cheers

Mr Vinny,

I've just put in a BenQ 3D DLP projector that gives a 3.0 metre screen on the wall. Even bigger if you can fit it! The 3D is amazing at that size. I've got one thing to say. Trainz in 3D!! But when??? :udrool::cool:

Levers & Points

Hello Everyone

Just some shunting to do, as have been working hard rebuilding my QR B15 Converted as below; still along way to go before she is in game. As when I first created the model; I did not realise that the B15 was slightly shorter by a few inches which when I reviewed 4 years on from when first created the model it was built to PB specs; found that problem. It has caused countless headaches as the locomotive running board is higher than originally created. Just praying, I get through this in one piece. :o

@Chuffbuff
, I just letting you know I sent you an email regarding QR Point Levers.

@lesely, if you are interested; I got drawings to a Westrail P class on file, if you require. But looking well for far.

@trainz89, If you said Q or S Class I would have definitely given them ago however the P Class is just too ugly for me :p

@lesley; I agree; I have alot of WAGR - Westrail drawings; if you ask me personally; the P class looks like it has been king hit in the nose and someone forgot to take him to the hospital for plastic surgery. It got a face, a mother could love... :hehe:

If your interested in a WAGR S or W class steam locomotives; I am currently building them with assistance.

G'Day all,

Not sure if there is any interest in this or not but he goes. So, I've been messing around with the 'lat/long tool' again and I discovered a new alternative for reasonable satellite imagery in lite of nearmap going extremely payware. http://maps.six.nsw.gov.au/ is a site I found after many a search, it has relatively recent images and pretty decent quality, however it's NSW metro only. So there is a new one for you guys to use.
Anyhow I've been forging away from something I toyed around with a few months ago. I originally only laid the track for penrith yard just for fun but I've since started moving forward and laying even more. From the images below you can see a bit of progress has been made ( mind the blankness of those boards ). If I had to put a number on it, position wise, the layout of the tracks are >90% accurate. One thing I have always struggled with is scenery and height adjustment of land and track, could anyone suggest how one would go about getting accurate track levels without walking the tracks with an altimeter :hehe:?
Would love feedback on this and would even be willing to send some copies out (would just be track and stations only). I don't think anyone else has done this sector of the network to this accuracy before so forging new ground but I'm pretty inexperienced with actually finish routes.

Cheers

Michael

Wow nice work there Michael and thanks for the link to that site mate incredible detail for sure and it will help with quite a few of my future projects, As for gradient data mate you be best going to the ARTC Website and having a browse around there or try asking over at Railpage.com. I think you would be struggling even if you found reasonable data to do it by hand your best bet would be via a DEM Michael as this would save you a load of time that could be better spent laying the track and scenery mate. Hope this helps and i hope you can continue on with this.
Cheers Mick.:)

That is a SICK looking yard there mate, I'm loving the last 2 pics. I'm wondering what the terrain is like where you're building, and whether asking Jerker for a DEM of the area would be worthwhile for ya?

Jamie

Cheers guys :)

Its western Sydney so it's pretty flat, mainly slight ups and downs.
As for the DEM, clueless as to how I'd even start using that stuff. Never really ventured that far into building in detail.
