Australian screenshots

Next, why is 4620 at the head?

Guessing here... the 13 car consist was overloaded for the 1 in 33 gradients from Valley Heights to Katoomba. As such 4620 was attached from Penrith to Katoomba to assist. From my old readings there was a hint of the Western Endeavour being set as an 11 car consist at the time of organising the trip... but two additional cars were added for passengers making day trips to Bathurst only. Or something of the sort - I'm committing to memory here, so it may be sketchy.

The initial screenshot threw me because I thought the scene was Cowan Bank with the abandoned Baronia tunnel in the background.

Taggy, right again, but I'm going to give Forest_Runner this one for his extra detailed info, and picking the mismatched location. I used my Boronia No.5 screenshot backdrop for want of a decent NSW mountains setting.

That's some top shelf stuff you're posting tonight, Ghosty.

I'm not up to speed on QR suburban workings (old or new), but you've been bringing it to life for me over the last year or so. Smashing stuff.

What is wrong with this consist, There is something odd about it.

The thing that is odd is that it has two motor cars on the rear. At one stage this did become a fairly common working.

I don't know about the containers but I do like the wagons they are on. Perfect rendition of QR "flat" wagons. Are they built in or downloads please ?
Regards
Glen

Hi Glen,

They are downloadable, kuid2:97008:60002:1 QR MTW Flatcar (they are standard gauge).

I can do a NG version if you want it.

Cheers,

Bill.

Thanks for the kind words. Having lived part of the era i model has helped big time as has the input from others who lived all the period i model. It maybe my name that will go on this project but its been a giant team effort and the results speak for themselves.

NG versions would be much appreciated, i have a couple of ideas for wagons i might have to send your way as they would fit in nicely with my work in progress.

The NG flatwagon has been uploaded, QR NG MTW Flatwagon, kuid2:97008:60028:1

Should be available "soooooooooooooooooooon" from the DLS.

Cheers,

Bill.

would it be possible if u could do the cattle wagon in ng? If so thanks in advance
or does the cattle wagon uses same boges as the flat car? So we can just switch out the bogies on it?

Beautiful pics who ever did them. The railway yards that you pictured there remind meof the good old days. Just a quistion, The last 2 railway yards you pictured there, are they the Ipswich workshops or is that the Warwick railway yard. Love the loco's use especially the C17. I am a C17 fan myself but to see a PB15 makes my eyes twinkle at how much effort must have been put into it.

The beyer garratt that kent posted above, I havent seen that one before. I also noticed straight away that kent pictured the garratt on the Toowoomba - Wallangarra line. My Dad owns a property about 20km away to the south from that spot and it is 200 acres and we go camping and hunting there. The area around wallangarra and Stanthorpe has quit a few cactus growing there and I think kent maybe should add a few in.

The ng bogies would be usefull. Some really nice maps around or coming in NG
Ghosty is doing one, and NG will visually be a great improvement. Lets face it SG just looks plain wrong ;) And with QR running NG better than Victoria can handle its BG and SG its always been a great achievement for all Queenslanders and QR. Lets celebrate it
Cheers

ps anyone know how to get spell checker working in Win 8? Not working in Mail or Explorer :(

I will check the bogies out on the cattle car and will upload a narrow gauge version, (easier than having to manualy
change them), I will also check if there are any other wagons I have done in std gauge and do them in narrow gauge.

@ Ghosty, await your email.

@ comtrain, I agree Rod.

Cheers,

Bill.
