Rolling through the Yarra Valley...

A QR cream shed made as a scenery item. Made from details in AMRM. Looks like its seen better days.

Nice work Falcon. ;)

Apart from myself, misterchugg and others will surely be pleased you've come to the rescue, I was attempting to redo another version without it being industry-active. The more the merrier!

Cheers

I'm sure you're familliar with the connecting rods used on the NSWGR, particularly in rural yards. So far, I have found a few different connecting rods on the DLS, but have not found one item in particular. You may have noticed, that when the connecting rod for the switches and signals needs to sharply change direction, the rod ends are connected by a chain, which runs around a pulley on the ground. Has anyone created one of these, or would anyone create a low poly one (I'll beg! :p) please? It looks incredibly unrealistic to have the rods connecting at 90 degrees, no chain & pulley.

Just wondering if anyone knows of anything like this?

Chris

Lucky its a scenery item not really up on adding track and industries. Got a few projects in the pipeline. Haven't done any rote building for ages!

Although I haven't seen such signal wire/rod chain pulley wheels on the DLS Ron, an alternative way of having point rodding sharply change direction was by way of hinged joints, of which I know there are several variations on the DLS. Just give me a moment to find their KUIDs in CMP for you. :)

EDIT: well, I did a check in CMP and found three items by Natvander labelled 'point connector rod 1, 3 and 4' - KUIDs 61119:37101, 61119:37100 and 61119:37103. I wasn't sure they were exactly what you're looking for so I searched in the Black Pages and came up with 'No Downloads Found' with those KUIDs - searching under Nat's name didn't find them either, so I have no idea where they are.

It could just be the DLS playing it's usual tricks again though. ;)

micheal, there is no downloads found on the black dls for the AJS Tramstop.
i looked through my backup folders, but i dont have it there either.

i finally found the problem of 2 roadvale towns.
1 is kulgun, which is not on the official dugandan route as a station.
things are getting weirder and weirder with this route
thanks again

Yes, yes, yes, yes and repeat that happy thought forever... The cream does rise to the top!

A few more thoughts on cream platform heights; many districts have former dairy factories such as creameries and butter factories converted into local museums or craft centers etc. Many still have the loading dock in place and date from the horse drawn dray era. A quick height measure will soon tell you the local "standard loading dock" height which will be very similar for other dairy loading docks in that district eg cream sheds down at the local stations.

Look like it was just left out of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dugandan_railway_line

Definite railway station at Kulgun as there was a report in "The Brisbane Courier", Saturday 14 May 1921, of the station being robbed.

The Coirmiissioner for Railways has been advised that the railway station offices at Kulgun and Teviotville, on the Dugandan line, 53 and 55 miles respectively from Brisbane, were broken into on Thursday night. http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/20462938?searchTerm=kulgun&searchLimits=

ARHS Bulletin Feb 1969 A short history of the Fassifern (Boonah) branch line (Armstrong, J.) page 41, shows Kulgun as 29 miles 7 chains from Ipswich with track diagram on P.40.

On a non rail note, the following is the births, deaths and marriages plus residences

Hello Everyone,

@Ron;

Here is what you have been looking forAJS Tram Stop (compact)
Paul 'Z' May

AJS Tram Stop 2

<kuid2:122285:3360:5>

I use these for small stations and halts, they are fully animated and height adjustiable. I will send some items tonight on the email, and I hope you will enjoy them. I will double check my working timetables for the Boonah line for the station, and use Hairylegs Google Earth Overlay to find the station. Then I can tell you the roadnames.

@Zec

Nice screenshot, I reckon, is so flat; I bet I could play a good game of Billards on it.:hehe:

@Petan, I sent you a Private PM, so I hope you get it.

@Falcon, I just scanned some files, so I will send some of it via email..

I will back on later tonight with some NSW Level Crossing Gates & Much More

Cheers & Many Beers

@Ron & Petan, I have resolved your issues. Where is Kulgan? Using my trusty google earth and google maps, and Railpages Hairlegs Old Alignments Overlays while cross refferencing with the 1949 Boonah Working Timetable and QR Station Register from 1954 - which included street names and enviroments from my QHR Historical Collection. Here is a google map screenshot of the location of the former station and roads;

i drove there today, but could not find anything that was left to show where the station was

thanks

Just got home, i didn't win the poker tournament tonight, but i put a couple dollars in the chocolate machine on the way out and hit the jackpot,

come home with 32 asorted chocolates bars,

Great shot Zec, reminds me of Leadville near Dunedoo years ago when i was a kid when there was no draught, i use to sit on my great great grandmothers front steps and watch the old steam trains and the push carts once or twice a day.

for elder may remembers a boxer that went by the name of iron man abbott or darky abbott that was where he grow up at and he was my grandfather.

The NSW next train boards writting will be black, and i will post them on my site when they are ready or upload them one or the other
