I did more checking to see what was the problem and found the following. The real one does not have the big front grills, although he may also mean other matters as well. See http://www.zelmeroz.com/album_model/basics/28_netherdale.pdf

He wasnt rude at all he was just giving helpful feedback to the creaters

So which is truly more helpful?. :o

SMAN12345 Version: The cane loco that someone is building is wrong. I live out near Farliegh and Netherdale and it's six sisters don't have grills.

Forest_Runner's Proposed Version: Hi Pete - I've PM'ed/e-mailed you some material to assist with the grills of the sugar cane loco. << then attach photos/links/diagrams via PM/e-mail >>

That post was disgraceful. Pete is one of the demi-gods of Australian content creation and deserves better than that.

Never lose sight that Content Creators are the heart and soul of this sim, and posts like that only serve to antagonise, discourage and demotivate.

Now, as it's a Screenshots thread... QR Blue Era panaromic shot on Patchy's Kingaroy line...

I think the problem with the cane loco is that I used that pdf document sent to me as a reference and in reality, the real locos do not have the vents on the side and top of the hood also after finding more photos it appears that the louvers on top of the hood arent there either. in the drawing there is a radiator and I did see a photo of one with a radiator but has this been removed? also could the loco in the link have been an early version? I have rebuilt the entire hood without vents except on the three doors. Does the radiator need to go? I did try and register for a cane train site but it fouled up and my emails have not been replied to. For the record, i did not find him rude, a bit curt perhaps and maybe he should remember that plans are scarce and the version that creators do off plan may well be an earlier version as to what is currently running around. As bear said, a few pics would have been helpful. Usually Zelmeroz is a very accurate reference site.

Could someone who lives in bio fuel country please let me know about the radiator as I have seen several different versions of the loco. Heaven help me when I show a screenie of the DH, speaking of which, does anyone up north have an end on pic of the DH in the green livery with the V stripe?

cheers
Pete

I completely understand where your coming from and the approach was a bit rude but its btter for someone to let the creator know then for the creater to found out after he is done and have to redo the loco again

New LDP Class QRN Eagle scheme......

I will be uploading today or tomorrow for approval 2 different LDP Class QRN Eagle scheme locomotives, one is a little dirty but still looking newish, the other is a very dusty version, as up in QLD they do not seem to clean their pride and joys (so I was told). If there is enough interest, I will also make a very dark coal dust(y) version of this LDP Class.

Where below a clean(ish) looking LDP004 is leading a triple set of dusty sisters (or brothers, as the case might be) somewhere along the tracks. Without further ado:

The differences between the 2 versions:

and a little closer to inspect what is there to see:

The dusty version still needs very minor texture adjustments, in case eagle eyes can pick these on the pictures. As AURAN/N3V seems to have the upload approval somewhat automated and streamlined, expect these fine examples of Oz locomotive building around the weekend to become available for d/loading.

I will take a short breather from the TT Class, GWA Class and similar derivatives and will fit in (create) a mysterious Oz locomotive in between as I always wanted to create that particular beauty, which btw. is not currently created as yet anywhere. What this locomotive will be, I will tell you in good time when I have all info, details, pictures etc. needed, meanwhile if you would like to guess here what this could possibly be, well, start guessing :p.

PayWare quality still created as FreeWare for you to enjoy.

Cheers

@Peter C,

The Queensland Railways DH Class, has buffers right up to withdrawl from offical service, the majority of the class had D4 drawhooks couplers, but the final 4 were delivered with transitional knuckle couplers but one member of the class was fitted with Auto Couplers in its twilight years in the 1990s to be acted as the Mayne Yard Shunter.

{Just Thinking from the top of my head, so I may or not be correct}

I can email you my notes on the class, aswell as diagrams and photograghs from my railway groups archives aswell from online sources.

Love the Kingaroy line shot Forest Runner! :)

Just letting you all know regarding the Southern Main Line, I'm passing the creators helmet over to Ghostryder. I recently got a job in train control with Queensland Rail and my time for Trainz of late has been minimal. So I decided to hand the work in progress over to Ghosty. Who I know will look after my baby. haha.

Some amazing screenies here of late. Keep up the awesome work.

QHR Workshops Update - Wednesday 1st August 2012

Evening All

Just some updated progress shots from the QHR Railway Workshops of my QR 1800 class Railmotor Driver Motor & QR CVS 1053 Carriage.

QR 1800

The front end has been added and is slowly getting textured; the crest & white wings was taken from a black and white photogragh, and coloured the respective colours by using my notes and many [rare] colour photos of the class. Currently, I am putting the driver consold in, aswell as the seats but I might have to make a trip up to the ARHS Rosewood to get some interior shots, measurements and texture photos.

Front End.

QR CVS 1053

This has been a problem orphan child for the workshops, the carriage sides did not export then it exported leaving the entire mesh looking like a bomb site. One side was looking good and the other was reversed inward. So I had to completely re-make the carriage sides from scratch, as I had a hunch that the orignal sides were corrupted. But the results speak for themselves.

Pete,
IIRC most of the DH's had drawhooks. The 3 main ones I was involved with were the 70's (1,2 and 3)and as they were the main shunters in that time, they were fitted with auto couplers. They were mostly worked in Mayne yard, one at the Albion end and the other on the City end. Just thinking I may have the manual for the class in my collection from Drivers school. Will take a little bit to dig it out so give me a few days and I will get back to you on some of that info. There will possibly be better info (Petan) on here before then.
Regards
Glen
