This issue has now been resolved.Moderators - if this is in the wrong place, please move it to the correct place.

As of 16:02 GMT 01/03/2012, I can confirm that the server that is hosting the Trainz Patches (and possibly other files as well) is down.

Any address starting with download.ts2009.com will return a Page Not Found error.

Can N3V please look into this ASAP, as this means that TS2009,TS2010 and TS12 users cannot patch their game.

This does not appear to be connected to the Forum upgrade that is mentioned in the Announcements.

I've now found that in addition to the patching server, the server that handles the lists for DLS asset updates appears to be down as well.

Can TS2009 SP4 and later users check this by reading the TADDaemon information.

Just to confirm, the server(s) in question are still down as of 16:39 GMT.

I have sent a Critical ticket to the helpdesk as well.

Hi Shane,

The server is there, but there's something wrong with the DNS or Naming Servers

C:\Windows\system32>nslookup download.ts2009.com
Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.181.1 <my gateway
Non-authoritative answer:

C:\Windows\system32>ping 174.121.103.218

If this server is hosted in the southern US, then it may have been hit by bad weather.

It's worrying though.

That indicates a possible problem on port 80.

This still means that users cannot download patches though.

Good Morning Shaneturner12
Our admin has now fixed this, and the files should be available again.

Thank you for reporting this issue.

I'm curious as to how you came to know this. Please don't tell me you check all links daily...

Okay, now I'm concerned. You're a young man Shane, maybe it's time you went outside more often.;) I mean, I'm past my prime, and I love Trainz and all that, but you... you have your whole life ahead of you!

Then they'll just post and complain about not being able to download the patches and you can tell them the server is down...
I admit you are a quite helpful Trainzer Shane, but I do worry you are letting your youth pass you by, believe me; you will regret that!:)

Hi Euphod,

Don't worry - I do other things apart from Trainz. The reason I ended up finding out about this is when a member said that one of the patch links from my site was not working. I subsequently tested it and another of my links, and both failed - hence this thread.

Also, TADDaemon was frequently failing to download the asset list, which indicated a problem with said server.

I find it easier to have a single thread explaining the problem rather than loads of the same post.

(Coincidentally, I would have been out and about yesterday, if it was not due to a late delivery):hehe:

Luckily, today is another day - I will be out and about more today.

Shane

P.S. Zec, thank you for responding. I've noticed this morning that the servers are now back up. My concern was the potential deluge of threads about it.

Thankyou for your kind comments.

I'll do just that! I looking to learn more about mulitplayer Shane. Hopefully I can find a small group to run trainz with online. Im a newbie and so the things that you've posted thus far has helped me so so much.

First thing you need to do is register TS12. Once done, have a look in the Trainz Multiplayer Talk forum for currently running sessions - to connect to one of those, you need to have the route installed, then select the relevant session in-game. Trainz will automatically download the required dependencies.

I have just bought Trainz 10 and am having trouble updating it. When I startup the program I get a message that there is an update but that fails to download. I have tried turning off anti virus etc as recomended but that doesn't solve the problem. I have build 42203 but the 'oldest' patch I have found is for build ~44000.
Where can I find the correct patch please?
How do I access the Patch Server (which was down yesterday)
Thanks
