Asset in Route which cannot be deleted

I have a route which has a short piece of track. I cannot delete it. It looks like '1 track as49 aggregate' 9:50003

In the distant past I seem to recall someone else having this type of problem. Any thoughts or suggestion on getting rid of it. For now I just covered it up with a road.

The most common cause of this problem is that the particular section of track is occupied by rolling stock in a session created using this layout. If this is the only section of a length of identical track spline that cannot be deleted then I would immediately suspect this to be the cause of your problem. If this is the case then load the session in Surveyor and delete or move the rolling stock.

Alternatively, and I have never tried this as a solution to this type of problem, you could go into CMP (or CM2 for 2009), locate the asset and delete it from the Trainz database.
