As far as Thomas goes, she has a point...

They don't argue with truck; they argue with lorries. it's British, after all.
And yes, I do talk to locomotives. The cops just shake their heads and sigh. They're used to me.
For those foaming at the mouth; it's just some fun observations of things no doubt obvious to anyone who has watched the show. They aren't going to take your Thomas off the air, it's too popular. You don't have to worry.

:cool:Claude

That blog post just made my day. I wonder what an electrified Sodor would look like. I doubt Toby would be pleased to find out he really is now an electric tram :hehe: "Electric indeed, electric indeed!"

How about some American Locos:hehe:
But seriously, it is a kids show, used to be any age could watch, now it is barely viewable for a 6 year old.

I hear ya, K4driver! The Nostalgia Critic puts it very nicely, "Just because it's intended for younger kids doesn't give you an excuse not to try!"

Ever heard of Hank? (one of Sir Topham Hatt's crazy 'imports') In for one episode, then he vanished. He would have been a good addition, if not for the drunks who write every episode.

I think that Mr Hatt sells his new engines to scrapyards where they suffer a horrible, painful gas-torchy death. Or he eats them - have you seen what he eats in these new series? Didn't think you had. Those scenes are cut, for if you showed them, Thomas the Tank engine would be a 15.

On a different note, an example script from a 'new' Thomas the tank engine episode:

SIR TOPHAM HATT: Hello Thomas. I have a special load for Percy.
THOMAS: Can I take it sir?
SIR TOPHAM HATT: No.
THOMAS: Please?
SIR TOPHAM HATT: No.
THOMAS: Pretty Please?
SIR TOPHAM HATT: Oh all right then.
THOMAS: Where is it?
SIR TOPHAM HATT: Over there. I also have a special friend for you. Here he is now.
New engine comes on.
NEW ENGINE: Hello Thomas. My Name is Steve.
THOMAS: Hello Steve!
--The Following has been re-written by me into something that will not bore anybody other than a small brainless child to sleep--
STEVE: (rolls eyes) I hate this script.
SIR TOPHAM HATT: I use my awesome powers to destroy you!
STEVE: Nooooooo!!!
Steve is destroyed as lighting bolt strikes him from the sky.
SIR TOPHAM HATT: There, 'tis done.
THOMAS: You killed him!
SIR TOPHAM HATT: Yes I did. Now I shall do the same to you.
THOMAS: That would not be a very good idea.
SIR TOPHAM HATT: You are not protected by the character shield. I destroy you now!
Thomas is destroyed as a lighting bolt strikes him from the sky.
SIR TOPHAM HATT: Now no-one can stop me in my evil scheme to corrupt the children of the world into my evil slaves! Mwuhuhahahaha!
Credits roll.

Hank only appeared in one episode? No wonder it's so hard to find one with him! While a US loco is a welcomed addition, I find it a little out of place that he's modeled after a PRR K-4. I would think it'd be more appropriate to base him on an S160, or heck even a USRA Mikado would have worked better!:o Oh, and let's not forget Rosie, also a nice, and more appropriate US engine!

You're right about that, osq7, and I'm pretty sure those same drunks narrate the episodes, and composed that awful new song!

what do you have against K4's?

Nothing. I just think it is rather strange choice for an American engine there. Most engines are based on real engines the author has seen regularly. What I'm saying is that, while Hank(or any K4) is a fine American example, it would be more appropriate for them to use an American engine that had actually served on the British and/or European railways.

You mean an S160?

On a different subject, it seems pretty odd that all the engines on the railways of Thomas the tank engine are all different colours: you will never find two identically coloured engines in TTTE. I believe that it is make it visually more attractive to the younger audiences intended: take all the other children's programs on these days: they all have three main things in common: crazy, synthesized theme tunes; bright, vibrant colours that make it look like your television has had a magnet put to it; and are as far from reality as possible, e.g. in Dora the Explorer, the high-voiced highly annoying "heroine" has a high-pitched annoying monkey (which can talk) as her side-kick (taking the term literally).

If I ran Sodor, I would sell the entire line, scrap the engines, sell the engines to Malasian businessmen and blow up the entire island*, thus decreasing the water displacement in the ocean and cancelling out the effects of global warming's rising sea levels, saving mankind.

*The island has no population: all the people are 3D models, ported from MSTS (HIT is that poor: it had to sell the entire population to Malasian businessmen).

That's my explanation of TTTE.

Exactly! An S200 or a 141R would have been acceptable, too. I don't think I'd go that far, I would want to keep the island and engines, but I'd sure do things different!

The different colors of the engines are also intended to reflect each one's personality and style, like people!

Only problem is... Explosions that big would send out some nasty waves to the rest of the world...

You don't need to blow the island up... You just need to detonate the connections between it and the sea floor, then skylift it to NASA and they can send it to the moon. Job done :P (The sea level will go down, too - added bonus!)

U know there is two engines on sodor that have identical colors. Theres percy and henry and also theres thomas gordon and edward.:D

*snip*

and to add insult to injury, they gave Hank a western accent.

Considering the K4s locos worked mainly in the northeast, wouldn't it be more appropriate to give him a Brooklynese accent?
