Article: TS12 SP1 Hotfix 3 and Auto-patch Now Available

Looks like you have a corrupt installation there, as some of those entries should not be present. I know that the multiplayer/achievements ones were present in TS12 SP1 originally.

Well, all I did was download the latest hotfix, apply it, and try to run the game. So, if the installation is corrupt, the patch corrupted it.

All items that are not built in (but are installed) are showing a yellow puzzle piece as their location. What does that mean?
I also have items with a RED puzzle piece where the warnings and errors are shown - checking the warnings an errors shows 0 for both, but does NOT clear the red puzzle piece.

I haven't seen it in the Location field before, but it normally means missing dependencies (and in the case of a red one, faulty dependencies).

Shane

Figured out the red puzzle piece means "Faulty Dependency".

Looks like all my JointedRail content reports, "Unable to link compiled script class".

Including the BUILT IN JR cars.

Yeah, I figured that one out, but thanks.

No the yellow puzzle piece is in the FIRST position, where "Location" is designated. Could be that the icons are mucked up somehow...

I'm trying an EDR (god help me...)

I did an QDR first thing, it had no effect.

An EDR however did fix it. Love to know why some users go fine (as I did on HF1 and HF2) while other's have a mini-disaster (my HF3 experience, and HF1,2 for others)....

frogpipe,

I think it might depend on how you originally install, add SP1, the hotfixes, and what content you add, and when you add it.

Paul

That's the weird bit. I'd expect trouble had I had trouble with HF1 and HF2, but they patched without a hitch. Although I do recall that I had to do a manual EDR after the SP1 patch.

Well thanks team my quick drive now works again:), now the only thing that is still no good is reverting locally modified assets for mp sessions.
Keep up the good work you are getting there and i do appreciate all the time and effort you have put into these patches

Oh Magoo you have done it again!!!!

G'day, firstly the download was quick and the patch also quite quick but from there on the @#$% hit the fan.
My PC
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM

Display Device
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
Display Memory: 4051 MB
Dedicated Memory: 723 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

Sound Device
Hardware ID: HDAUDIO Realtek(onboard 5.1)
Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio 5.1)

After patch sessions would not work and lots of red bugs saying scripts would not work.
Did an EDR thousands of broken assets highlighted them than check errors......none and non existent errors went away.

Ok, now sessions work..sort of...frame rates now less than half of what they were before and more lag and stutter than ever. I have tried ogl and dx with same results. I have set draw distance to 3000 and other sliders to mid way.

This is a disastrous fail at my end.
Now back to TS10 and TS12 unpatched and wait for the next exciting episode.

I do feel for people who are new to trainz as this sort of thing would be a big turn off.
Regards
Barrie

Edit:- I still cannot save a session, the game crashes to desktop on save and nothing is saved, this has been there since SP1. The same route in TS12 pre SP1 saves fine.

Hi,

I do not see in the list the issue I had with SP1:

After I install an item, I must commit -- However, I launched Trainz to go into the menu, allowing the software to commit items at launch time automatically -- However, trainz freezes at this stage --

So, did not see that issue fixed in the list --- hope in the future I see that fix!

Thanks
Ish

I held off the hotfix one and two whilst things stabilised. So then dropped in hot fix three. I'm getting tired of gigs of content downloading yet again without warning. I have fairly generous bandwidth limits but by the time giga byte downloads don't work, then I read S&C has had a couple of assets fixed so needs downloading yet again I'm beginning to feel that the new DLC DRM or whatever it is that needs to down load 2 gigs to fix a couple of assets is not user friendly.

TS12 has also started doing database whatevers, I'd like to be able to use the computer for something else rather than have TS12 hog it downloading or database rebuilding for much of the day. Please be sensitive that not all of use have 50 Mbps Internet connections.

So can we have a user expectation attached to thehot fixes please. Something along the lines of expect Hotfix three will download S&C, and Murchison yet again so apply it last thing at night then look at it again in the morning since we've fixed the "you have to cancel one of the two S&C downloads to get the other to work" problem.

At the moment I'm not a happy camper.

Cheerio John

Just want to say thank you to the people behind the scenes doing all this work. I did not have to many issues with the Service Pack or hot fixes. But I did have the issue of the sound dropping. but with HF3 everything is back to normal. Thanks again.
