I was able to download and install all the sections, but I needed to download an .rar extraction program first. The instructions are missing at their download site, so you are left to your own devices. A new person to Trainz could have a very bad time getting this program installed properly. I was disappointed that the steam section was so "light", now someone mentioned that there is a TRS 2012 steam version and this is not it. I wish folks would be clearer about just what it is you are getting for your money. I noticed that the program does not have many routes, but they are extremely large in size. I really haven't run anything yet, I just made a test loop and ran the N&W articulated loco as a test. It ran OK.

Here's a quick update for you all regarding the store.

The team are working hard at sorting through the issues. One step we will have up shortly is a brand new server that should improve things (such as why sometimes the Support Form works sometimes and other times is says "Try again later").

Helpdesk are getting through the backlog of tickets, but the main problems (apart from the price changing issue which has been solved) seem to be related to downloads.

The key thing is to ensure you have downloaded all the required files, not just the first one; that they are all in the same folder; then double-click the setup.part1 file and it should auto-extract.

Some additional download help has been posted by loyal Trainz fan Shane Turner here.

Here is a link that will help you follow the process through ordering and downloading.

Did anyone else order the digital download and not receive an email yet? Ordered the download yesterday and still haven't seen anything in my inbox...

I purchased my TS12 from simulatorcentral.com. I didn't need an e-mail but yes, I got it within minutes. I'm still waiting for my FCT to show though.

Have you checked your Planet Auran profile under 'tickets' to see if it's there waiting for you to activate it?

AHHAAA But this is the problem Tony..after some 40 hours of attempting to download and install TS-2009...unlike the old store system of having multiple files to download, the NEW store system jams all the parts into ONE big download, and the NEW store system also seems to have an "inactivity time-out" which automatically logs you OUT after a period of time (undetermined)....so it is nearly impossible for anyone on a "slow DSL" of only 1.5Mb to download the entire package without sitting infront of the computer for 8 hours straight, refreshing the store every 5~7 minutes...AFTER 9 ATTEMPTS I HAVE STILL NOT GOTTEN THE FILES I PAYED FOR and I am getting a bit upset...as I have asked in the 2 Help Tickets I submitted...send me a better Download Link or REFUND MY MONEY!!!

Edit: After 10 failed attempts to get my TS2009, following your directions to NOT use a D/L Manager (rediculous for files this large) and even disabling my AVG Anti-Virus (also rediculous requirement) I STILL have not gotten a fully non-corrupt file, and now I am unable to try again because of your silly "10 try limit", and useless "Help Ticket" reponces by "Kris" about my TS10 and TS12 products that I bought a year ago and have been installed and working for this whole time...PayPal Dispute Opened.

I realize things can be frustrating when they don't happen as expected. As I am sure you are aware, we don't do anything with the intention of annoying our customers. We have had many hundreds of customers who have downloaded and installed without incident, so we need to identify why you are having issues.

For Trainz 12, the new store has 4 files that need to be downloaded individually, not one big one. Three of these are 2GB. For TS2009, there is one file at 2.9GB file. The number of files is not really the issue. The problem is that your download isn't continuing once you click on the file.

There is no time out on the files at our end, although there are security precautions to ensure the link cannot be shared. Is it possible you are using a download manager? This is quite likely to be causing the problems you are experiencing as the download manager may need to re-establish a connection with the link from the store. We have made some changes which could help solve this problem.

Have you tried downloading by clicking on the links directly and allowing your browser to manage the download. This still gives you the ability to pause the download and resume later. If you could try that and report back if it works that would be great.

Regarding the speed of your "slow DSL", again the problem isn't the speed, since 8 hours is still a week quicker than waiting for a box in the mail :D

I assure you that we would much rather get you the files than refund you the money (all $3.48 for TS2009 on special).

Tony - I thought I'd better let you know that the 'link anti-share' mechanism may be preventing download manager tools from picking up the file correctly (as it only downloads a .html file instead).

P.S. You're right about me being a loyal Trainz fan, as I've got most of the Trainz versions (although at the moment, I've only got TS12 actually installed)

Does the Credit Card payment method include Debit Card? I have been told a Debit Card can be used as a Credit Card and my Payl account is wonky right now.

I purchased my TS12 from simulatorcentral.com. I didn't need an e-mail but yes, I got it within minutes. I'm still waiting for my FCT to show though.

Payment sent and posted, and showing transaction complete @ simulatorcentral, but there's no serial number listed there, and I STILL haven't received an email (yep, email address is correct), despite having sent 2 support tickets.

Any idea's anyone?

Hi Tony,
Any idea why I did not get the serial number when I purchased the TS12 digital download? I made my purchase via paypal over 2 days ago and was expecting to atleast receive an email with the #, or see it listed in my orders @ simulatorcentral.com, but neither happened. I was able to download the files, just cant install without the serial number :(
I've raised 2 suport tickets for this issue, but nothing seems to be happening on that front either.
Getting frustrated that I paid for the software, and havent been able to use it because N3VRFA1L didn't send me the serial#.
Thanks.

I purchased and downloaded Trainz 12. The downloaded files were setup.exe, setup-1a.bin, setup1-b.bin, and setup-2a.bin. During installation I am asked to insert disk setup-2b. There is no setup-2b file.

I have downloaded the files several times using two different computers.

Any suggestion as to why your installer is asking for a file that is not part of the download?

I posted this in the TS12 section and am cross posting here since this thread is pretty active. I have been unsuccessful so far with the digital downloads for TS12 from the new Simulator Central website. Can someone who has been successful with their purchase post the MD5 checksum values for the 4 files so I can verify which of my downloads is correct or has been corrupted. I have tried to download the files using Firefox and Internet Explorer and continue to receive WinRAR self-extracting archive error messages like "CRC failed in setup-1a.bin and setup-1b.bin...". I have also tried using the WinRAR to extract the files as well as 7-Zip. Can someone post the proper MD5 values to help me sort these things out. I am down to 18 downloads attempts left.

Thanks!

Takesix

There should be 6 files... I know this now only because I have 4 in "My available downloads section", and a helpdesk person just informed me there should be the following 6: Trainz Simulator 12 Setup (.exe)Trainz Simulator 12 Setup 1 (rar)Trainz Simulator 12 Setup 2 (rar)Trainz Simulator 12 Setup 3 (rar)Trainz Simulator 12 Setup 4 (rar)Trainz Simulator 12 Setup 5 (rar)

IMPORTANT: Make sure you create a new folder (I put it on my desktop because it's only temporary), and save all of those files to the new folder.

Hope this helps.

I've tried 3 times to place a order tonight and I keep getting this.

There has been an error processing your payment. 05, Do Not Honour

Anyone else having this problem?

Thank you for sharing that with us.

It makes no sense for help?desk to tell us to put all SIX files in one folder when the help?desk is only giving us FOUR to download. Since they obviously are aware of this, did they by chance tell you if they have ANY intention of putting ALL the files up there? You know, for those of us that PAY THEIR SALARIES?
