Did someone say Rail Photography :o

These pics taken in Brampton, this week ... an expansion to the local GO Transit service, adding a second track to relieve a single track bottleneck through town. The top pic faces east and the lower pic faces west.

The signal in the middle of the new track (not yet ballasted of course) marks the split to double track and the Brampton GO station just beyond.

Dave,
Would Brampton be outside Toronto? I was just in Toronto a few days ago.
Just curious.
Cheers,
Sean

Well. I didn't see you :p
Yes, Brampton is a half hour NW of Toronto, those tracks are part of the Georgetown GO Transit line.

I SUPPOSE I AM A RAIL PHOTOGRAPHER!

And this is the evidence! A man outstanding in his own field.

It's nearly the end of the season for the Scarborough Spa so yesterday we went to try to bag a slightly different viewpoint at a favourite location. We have posted a few shots taken from the bridge in the background of the A4, this is also where my son Craig took the shot of me from.

First off a test shot of a railcar.

The light then died dramatically. At the moment the A4 arrived out came a weak sun and I took this spectacularly out of focus shot in surprise.

And then a rushed close up of the loco.

Digital cameras are not too bad, but I've just put some new batteries in my Pentax SLR!

Well Mrs C gave us permission to grice tonight so I tried to get last nights shot in focus. Still did not get it focused properly, and no smoke, harsher light and couldn't get the same composition. Never mind there is still 3 trains next week! And it looks like it will be a Black Five again.

Let's hope the mastershot is captured next week!

yep, Northampton station, thanks for looking at my site!

Nice shots Michael, especially Horseshoe Curve, have often wondered what it looked like in photographs.

Just a couple from me tonight, but these are from SWITZERLAND. I have completed the full Glacier Express trip 3 times now over the years, and intend to go back again next year for my 4th trip, and as these were both taken in 1988, next year will be my 20th anniversary, hooray for the Furka Oberalp Railway.
