These are my first pics on this section so I hope you like them.

Note: BR in these pictures does not mean British Rail as some might think, it instead means Baureihe which translates to class.

SCARBOROUGH SPA EXPRESS

For the first time in many years I've caught the Scarborough Spa Express running on the York/Leeds loop section. First couple of DMUs whilst waiting, then 60009 Union Of South Africa. Picture taken 30 minutes ago!

Does anyone want pictures of the train over the summer? Different locos are promised.

For grumpy Mr. Chisum.

All in good fun John. :D

My days on Doncaster station span from early 60`s to mid/late 80`s (I`m 54 )
I wish I had got into developing & printing my own, I applaud your efforts, they look as good as anything I could have hoped for.

I lost all my early work (up to about 1975) when we had a house fire.
Here`s some that survived.

Hi Blackwatch, tonight's Scarborough Spa Express was powered by a Doncaster loco again. As a Midland man it loathes me to report it was bang on time again! The Duchess has something to match when it has a turn!:p

Yesterday was at Peckfield, today at East Garforth.

All Deltic fans found it disturbing when they started to cut them up. :'(

You're telling me. I remember buying a copy of Rail Enthusiast back in 1982 with a Deltic on the cover and "Save Me" scrawled in the grime. I just couldn't believe they were getting rid of my favourite BR locos. And as to Meld, I had a soft spot for her as it was my first OO diesel, so just watch dissing her...

John, keep the pics coming, especially when they are that fresh. My good friend David Bailey from steamsounds.org.uk was on the trip, so I'm hoping he got some decent recordings.

Cheers
Tony

I've managed a couple of business trips over to Melbourne in the last couple of weeks and grabbed a few shots between meetings....

Do moving pictures count?

Whilst out this week with me gricing the Scarborough Spa Express with 60009 Union Of South Africa my son took this video. I've fangled a way to get it on You Tube so here it is:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgCUYnJUsRg

I'm amazed by the blast from the chimney as the loco goes directly under the camera!

Looks like the video camera is coming out with us in the next few weeks.

John (and Craig this time:wave: )

ps Mr Spielberg needn't worry for a while!:hehe:

Hi Deltic fans, ohhh sorry, thought this thread was for great photographs of our beloved Class 55's.

Another photo taken on a wet miserable day in the English summer, from 1985 I think !!

I wonder if somebody within the Trainz community can do white smoke exhaust plumes like we used to see years ago...here's hoping.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.
