Wondering if a particular locomotive could limit the speed from Edinburgh all the way to Prestonpans to 15mph?

I'm using the Union Pacific Big Boy for the first time; but, I swear other locos have had a higher speed limit much sooner...

Opinions? Facts? Conjectures?

I'll have a stab at 'conjecture.'

Did you start from a siding, branch line or even a platform that is not used by the built in sessions? It is possible that, where this joins the mainline, there is no main line speed limit sign such that the loco will remain at its starting max speed until it finally encounters a new speed sign (at Prestonpans, presumably). In the real world, a driver would know that the main line speed limit would come into force once the rear of their train had passed the entry junction. In Trainz, you need to tell the AI via a speed limit sign.

I'm not using an AI train...

Plus, the 15mph limit lasted past Prestonpans & I left from the Edinburgh station, like all the other consists I've used---though, the others got out of the 15mph limit long before Prestonpans...

A random thought...are you driving on the correct track? I notice that you are driving a "Big Boy" and I assume you usually drive on the right hand track in the US. If you do that on a UK route there are no speed signals on the right hand side unless the track is bi-directional)?

I've driven many trains on the right hand track before the Big Boy and they all had increased speed limits before Prestonpans...

It's not the other trains giving the problem, it's the 'bigboy', just try driving it on the correct line & see if it clears the problem.
There's an old saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do", just swap Britain for Rome & British for Romans.

Cool -- I will try that...

Thanks

Well...

You were right; but, I have no idea why....

I've run actually British trains on the right track and they never had the speed limit problem...

But, I move the Union Pacific Big Boy (pretty sure that's American) to the left track and the limit went from 15mph to 80mph...

INCREDIBLE... :o
