Another stupid question

I've noticed that a number of downloads from the DLS say that "see the attached PDF file for information on setup" or words to that effect. Where do I find the referenced PDF file when I install something in 2009 using CM2?

Open up the downloaded item in Explorer through CM2. The folder will contain the pdf or the .txt file with the information on configuration.

Thanks. I'd suspected as much, but wasn't sure if that's where they ended up. I was wondering if they just ended up in the bit bucket.

I'm also thinking I may just end up doing an Explorer search for .txt and .pdf files in the folder with the hash sub-folders, since I can't remember which downloads have readme files.

A search for Readme would probably work better then .txt since .txt will show all the .texture.txt files. And some Readme files might be HTML. (Like IndustRail 1a's)

Also, there are two folders it could be in, Original and Local. I'm not totally sure what the difference is between the two, but I recently had a fruitless search for a file all 'cause it was in Original and I was looking in Local. :b

The original folder is only in TS2010, at least for me. My TS2009 doesn't have an original. I assume that in TS2010, both the local and original folders would have to be saved to keep your download items, if had to re-install.

Hi Bob,

The original folder is for editing. When you have an asset open for edit, it will allow for a revert to original. I noticed this when I doing my massive content fix over the past 2 weeks.
