AnnouncingTrainz™ Simulator 2009 & Trainz™ Simulator X

Perhaps we need to introduce registered serial numbers for forums posting after all.
While this might restrict the view of potential new customers, I would certainly back this plan.

Maybe registered Serial Number users could view and post, and those without registered Serial Numbers could just view.
This way, you'd still have a window for potential new purchasers to take a peek into the community, but you'd be able to ban a user from posting under a serial number.

I say do it.

Smiley.

Hi All,

I just have two quick questions to ask about 09 (I'm thinking of ordering it)

1) Would it run on Windows 2000?
2) Does it come with a 365 day first class ticket?

Gisa

Hahaha! Well of course, the program looks great and I look forward to trying it out and using it, but if it comes with a 365 day ticket (which is that's almost 20 dollars right there, which means this is a steal! :D

Seriously, can anyone answer these two questions for me? If I'm going to order this, I should do it before the 25th...

Just donot get to excited You may be in for a very big SHOCK:o

Thanks builder300544. It is not that big of an issue for me (the first class ticket) but I think that that is not fair to those who pick this game up as their first trainz experience. Perhaps Auran is banking on their current customer base?

Halfway there...win 2k anyone?

Hi Gisa,

I seemed to remember reading a post somewhere on this Forum (09 is scattered everywhere) saying that W 2K works fine.

Cheers
Pete.

Thanks scorpio, I'll take the plunge!

Hopefully I can get the order in today so I can get the discount options that were stated...

Did you get your answers?

I have similar issues and questions with TS2009 as noted by Milton. I have been a user since the UTC days, and quite frankly, I am a bit dissapointed with the release of TS2009. I wish I spent some time during the Beta test before purchasing this release. I think the folks at Auran, should've spent more time developing enhancements to the 3D engine. Even documentation on this release is poor (almost non existent). They should have called it TS2006 Special Edition or something like that.:o

I also share a multicore system (Q6700) running Vista 64 with 8GB of RAM. I have a SLI confuration, but my Installation of TS2009 chokes, when I enable SLI. The graphics are choppy and slow. Compared to the Competition, which support SLI and Multicore, and the graphics on my system are smooth and clear. Perhaps there is something I am missing, but I can't find any information on the "Manual" <sacarsm>:hehe:.

Blimey!

I hope Trainz Simulator X includes a new graphics engine.

Hallo , this is the Question ?

I ve got all the earlyier Versions of Trainz and now a brandnew High End PC
cost over 3000.- € , but there are sometimes Problems with the Performance , but only by TRAINZ - Programms ...

so at this Time i have no more Interest , to buy with 2009 or X a new "CAT in the BOX "... ?? that runs like a Tortoise , because the Engine does not work fine with the newest Graphic Cards ... ??? :'(

Sorry , ... People , but what is the matter with you after a few Years of Testing and building new Versions of trainz ? :hehe:

Where is the Future her ? , for Example ... the FlightSimulator X from Microsoft works very fine under XP and VISTA ... but what meens now " X " by Trainz ??? :( :o

excuse my bad school english :)

Hello Grod,
Your English is far better than my German, so there's no problem.

As people have said here, the drive engine for the program needs attention to stop stutter and get a smoother frame rate.
Maybe with TrainzX?

A Happy Christmas to you and your familie.

Angela

what video card do you have, do you have the latest drivers for this card

TS2009 Disappointing!

Downloaded TS2009 and although the graphics show some effort, I am stumped by the numerous languages, the absence of driver controls, the procedural changes that are without explanation, and the lack of enrollment approval. The white lettering on snow is ridiculous and the Christmas music insulting. Following a new product with two weeks of vacation is not smart business strategy. I'll stick with the 2006 version until you guys get your act together.

so far, i'm really happy with it. and, i've got a Q9550 chip coming on monday, and that should happy-up my frame rates even more. i'm running well now though, with about a third-higher frame rate than in '2006 trainz, and the surveyor is pretty good now, with pretty amazing memory... what? 'control', i guess, where the cut and paste and working large bases is quick and much more fun to use.

hope it isnt a fall through like MSTS 2
