A bit of help with a road crossing

I'm working in an area I'm not familiar with.........
I replaced one of bnsf50's road crossings with another one and now
the traffic does not stop when the gates are down.
At this point I'm clueless about how to fix the problem.

What Trainz version, you have many?
What model was replaced?
What model was it replaced by?
What track and road is attached?
Did you validate that the track and road were both correctly attached?

#5 I assume they are as a train does not derail when crossing the road........

Oh,Oh, NEWS FLASH

I think I have the road incorrectly going through the crossing instead of attached at each side.......Will post further info when I know more.

Well, as usual, Martinvk's advice/questions were right on the mark !!
I made the correct attachments and lo and behold the traffic stopped as planned
