38411 to SP2 & Carbon City...

I am currently running Build 38411. Downloaded the new Carbon City which I gather requires SP2. Downloaded SP2 - 38411 version. Tried an initial load of SP2 but this did not work. Disabled my Zone Alarm and tried again, however the patch now fails with several messages to the effect that files have already been installed. Any ideas on how to get a successful load of SP2?

Tks..

Are you running Windows or something else? This can effect how you should do it.
If you tried the patch once and partway through it failed, it may have patched some parts but not all. This means you have some files at Build 40040 and some at Build 38411. Only way to fix it would be to backup any custom content, uninstall then reinstall followed by the SP2 patch for the initial Build. Seems so far patching the initial Build is fine.

Running Windows XP. I wondered if perhaps removing and re-installing TRS2009 might be the only solution, but thought there might be some other alternatives. Saw the earlier thread on this particular problem but thought perhaps I had missed something in the meantime. Appreciate the response...thanks!

I would also suggest that you rebuild all the way up to 40040 without adding any of your backed up local file. Import them after you have come up SP2 level. Less things to go wrong.

That seems like a good approach...I appreciate the suggestion.

Make sure you import them and not just move the local folder back. That way the upgraded version makes sure the files are up to what it wants.

No problem us fellow Canadians have to stick together. EH

Removed 2009 and re-installed. Autopatch worked as advertised so I am now at Build 40040. Good stuff! Thanks for the help.

True enough, Nickel - Looking forward to Railfair 32 in Ottawa.
