2009 or 2010?

I have a decision to make, and I would appreciate some help on this.

I have got the S&C addon pack, but it's compatible with both '09 and '10. Now I must decide: do I get Trainz 2009 or Trainz 2010?

I would go for 2010 for the graphical improvements, but there is much more available for Trainz 2009. I've also heard of constant moaning with 2009 and with 2010.

Please help!

Get ready for a whole load of conflicting opinions. I would imagine you'll be none the wiser once you've read them. Saying that, there are numerous threads asking the same question, 09 or 10? None have provided a definitive answer but it may be worth the time trawling through them.

I'm quite happy with 09 and there are reasons I would want 10 but not enough to make me change right now.

I'm of the other side. I would skip 09 and go for 10 at this point. 10 made some improvements in the way it handles older content over 09, foliage in particular. Compatibility mode in 09 is bad and runs like a slide show. Supposedly they are going to patch 09 to be more like 10 but when, or how close you never know.

Do read all the threads first though like has been mentioned. If you do feel the need to upgrade I would skip 09 and go straight to 10.

As a totally happy user of TS2010 from it's release, after nearly a year with TS2009 I would recommend TS2010. I don't have the S&C addon, but I do have the Murchison one and that installed into TS2010 without a hitch. Regarding content for TS2009, that content will run in TS2010 as well.

Compared with TS2010, TS2009 is outdated.

I'll go for 10 then. Thanks for your help. I'll learn to live with the new features. And I like the option of seasons.
