That's the James Archibald. It had a water tubed boiler. And I know that because I saw it on a DVD and if I'm right I call DIBS!

It's not a B39-8. This is a B39-8:
Notice the hood front is the same height as the cab roof.

Notice the hood above the cab roof.
From what I've seen this extra height may be specific to the preproduction units BN had. If you'll look you'll see the picture matches the drawing exactly.

The one in the picture is a B39-8. They used the same carbody. Look it up.
